Description

This listing has to be unique to any Beatles' listing on ebay. The chance to own The Beatles' first official UK album release with the rare gold lettering on the black Parlophone label - "Please, Please Me" in mono on PMC1202. Together with a free bonus !!

The cover, (the one on the left in my photographs #2 and #3  has the Angus McBean photo credit, is in very good condition for it's age with some light writing on the top left flipback, light ringwear and scuffing to the corners. The spine is readable.

We will come to the other sleeve and 2nd record in a moment.............. it is actually............a bit more than a half ...... but first let's deal with the main object of this listing ........so back to the main descrption...............................

Emitex inner sleeve.

The label on side one is clean. There are a few light marks to the label on side 2. There is no writing on either label. The publishing credit for the Lennon and McCartney songs is attributed to Northern Songs. (Photograph #1).

There are surface marks to both sides of the vinyl - more so on side two than side one. It plays through with some 'crackles' and 'pops' but, due to the thickness of this original vinyl, these are really only noticeable through the run-ins and the very end of "Love Me Do". It is, certainly, a very playable copy. The matrix and stamper on side one are XEX421-1N and '1' GP. (Side one is shown in my photograph #5).

AND NOW FOR THE BONUS !!!

I am also including, in this auction, an additional black and gold UK copy. Which - unfortunately, is broken.  Please refer to my photographs #6 and #7. The vinyl was broken in the post and is now held together with tape. This copy has the "Dick James" publishing credits. It would look great framed as I don't think you would notice the breaks under glass. It, too, comes with the sleeve, which is in poor shape (the one on the right of my photographs) and it's Emitex sleeve.
