THE BEATLES - Please Please Me

Rare 1963 UK fifth press black & yellow 14-track stereo LP

With 'The Parlophone Co' & 'Recording First Published' label text but without 'Sold in the UK'

Housed in a front laminated flipback picture sleeve

The first three issues were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow & black issue lacked the 'Recording First Published' text & retained the small '33 1/3' after the matrix number of the first two pressings. The second yellow & black removed the small '33 1/3' print.

This is therefore technically the fifth issue, still from 1963 and still with matrix numbers ending -1, however the first stereo pressing.

The Labels:

Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter & 'Recording First Published' label text. As this is a 1963 pressing there is no 'Sold in the UK' text across the centre of the label.

The Sleeve:

The Ernest J Day flipback sleeve has the large block 'stereo' logo on the front All text is clearly readable, however it has seen the wars as photoed (see photo's), with a small rip to the front cover, and the bottom is split as pictured.

Vinyl:

The vinyl retains a deep sheen on both sides. There is a some spindle wear on the labels (see photo's) & a few light surface hairlines to show for over half a century, which have no effect on play.

The 'Use Emitex' inner is the correct poly lined variant.

An iconic classic from the Fabs that should be in every record collection.

3. Anna
4. Chains

This is one of 10000 singles LP's, 12” and 7" that I HAVE COLLECTED OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS; they run from the 1950's to the 2000's and cover every style of music.

I am slowly listing them one by one and they are in a verity of condition, most are good or very good, with some in shop purchased condition (i.e. Like new), I don’t have time to play every record listed, (well only the ones I want to listen to), therefore I can’t vouch for the playing condition of this item, however if you want to know how it plays please ask and I will play it and let you know if there is any excessive hissing, scratches and what condition the vinyl is in.

I have kept most of these records for 30+ years plus so my goal is to make sure they arrive with you in the same condition that I have kept them, enjoy bidding and please feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer them
