Basic Details:

UK 1966 1st Pressing, withdwarwn soon after release as John Lennon was not happy with the sound on 'Tomorrow Never Knows'. The version on this pressing is known as the extended version as it was changed for all future releases. The sleave also includes the original Dr. Robert credit, not the Doctor credit that was used on newer pressings. This is a very rare and collectable special LP with the side 2 XEX606-1 Matrix.

Outer Sleave

The outer sleave is in stunning condition, the laminate is all in place, the folds on the reverse are all intact, and the sleave has had no repairs.

There are a couple of light general marks as you would expect on a sleave that is nearly 43 years old, and a couple of light fingerprint marks to the reverse only. Overall in my opinion this is an stunning example.

Inner Sleave

Original Paper sleave with clear inner lining... Some outstanding HMV LP's... Take good care of this quality EMI record... EMI records ltd. Hayes Middlesex England. (Some sellers state the original sleave was plain white, I can guarantee that this EMI sleave was deffinately the original sleave for this LP supplied from new and was rarer as not supplied on all).

Fully intact - no wear to edges or centre circle. Creases to corners just from where it has sat inside the outer sleave over the years.

Vinyl

Vinyl has been played and very very well looked after.

Side 1: Just one faint hairline that I can see - no scratches, perfect sound. Centre label has no signs of wear apart from general very light spider lines.

Side 2: Again, just two light hairlines - no scratches, perfect sound. Centre label has a few more general very faint spider lines the same as side 1. Point of interest - This side of course contains the very sought after original withdrarn track 7 'Tomorrow Never Knows' and the rare original 'Dr. Robert' wording.

Overall this is a super example of a very rare and collectable pressing. All of the beatles records that I will be auctioning come from a family friend. He was not a collector, just a huge Beatles fan.

This LP was originally purchased from a record shop in Gold Street, Northampton England in 1963 called John Lever Records - it was purchased on the LP release day and it has been with the same owner ever since.

As you can see by my rating I am a very honest Ebayer. I have sold many records in the past but none where condition is so important as the Beatles records that I will be listing.
