Description
THE BEATLES – Revolver * ORIG Parlophone LP * PMC 7009 (UK, Mono, 1966)
Here’s a serviceable copy of the rarer ‘Remix 11’ 1st UK press of Revolver. I’m offering it at a BIN price as it has seen some action. I’ve listened to it throughout and although it plays with some occasional crackle and frequent ticks, it doesn’t skip or jump and plays without distortion or groove wear.
Matrices : XEX 605 -2 / XEX 606-1
Mothers / Stampers : 1 GA / 5 AL
The sleeve is in VG- (Very Good Minus) condition. Quite heavy creasing to the front opening edge laminate. Some staining to the rear. Spine is fine. No splits or writing. ‘Dr. Robert’ credit.
The labels – Side 1 is fine, moderate spindle wear. Side 2 has some thin scratches on it (see photos). No writing or rips/tears. ‘Dr. Robert’ credit.
The vinyl grades VG- (Very Good Minus) on Side 1, several hairlines and one more prominent scuff line. Side 2 is only in F (Fair) condition. Not battered but with lots of hairlines and scuffs and a couple of lightly feelable scratches, including one that runs through the last 4 tracks. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY LISTENED TO. There are repeated clicks during ‘And Your Bird Can Sing’ and intermittent ticks, clicks and the occasional pop. The alternate mix of ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’ plays well but with some ticks – generally under the music. NO STICKS, JUMPS, HISS OR DISTORTION THOUGH.
Obviously a filler copy of this rare 1st Mono press of Revolver but it actually plays pretty well.
Supplied in ‘Emitex’ inner.
