Description

THE BEATLES Rubber Soul 1965 (LOUD CUT)
UK LP MONO Matrix -1/-1 Ernest J. Day sleeve, VG+ (near EX)

The original Beatles' Rubber Soul mono album, released on Parlophone's PMC 1267 mono "Loud cut" press (matrix No. Side 1 XEX 579-1, Side 2 XEX 580-1), is a classic iconic 1960s rock LP with rare Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd London flipback sleeve. The vinyl record was re-cut after EMI decided, that it was too loud and only the loud cut version carries -1 / -1 matrix numbers.
Vinyl cleaned with Ultrasonic records cleaning machine and audio tested..

SPECIFICATION:

Matrix: Side 1  XEX 579-1,  Side 2 XEX 580-1;
Mothers/Stampers: Side 1:  3 / GDP,  Side 2:  2 / HD;
Weight: 155g - heavy thicker vinyl;
KT tax code Side 1.

VINYL: (audio tested). I listened to the entire record on my Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB turntable, it plays from end to end with nice sound quality. Near excellent, loud clear, deep mono sound, no skipping or sticking. The vinyl surface has some barely noticeable, very light cosmetic lines, that have no impact. NO scratches, no crackles or marks, it plays well and has been stored very carefully. Only occasional light pops and a few clicks in the quiet pauses between songs, that is normal for used vinyl. I didn't hear any light surface noises in some quiet spots. Overall it plays really well, great sound for a used 60 year old vinyl.
LABELS: Excellent. Yellow Parlophone Type-6-1. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. Clean, a couple of light spindle traces, nice condition holes. No writings, no glue marks, no stickers. Embossed KT tax code on label Side 1.
COVER: Very good +, near excellent Ernest J.Day & Co. London front laminated mono flipback cover. With light stains on reverse side, some light small crease to lamination on front. Nothing disturbing. The mono covers were manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. sleeve has the words "TRADE MARK OF THE GRAMOPHONE CO. LTD." under the Parlophone logomark, but Ernest J.Day & Co. London has not. This cover is Ernest J.Day & Co. London and have not! In the original photo taken for the cover, there is a loose thread on the right shoulder of John's jacket. Clean, no writings, no glue marks, no stickers, no torn.
INNER SLEEVE: Excellent. Original Tracing-rice-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut sleeve. Clean, no writings, no glue marks, no stickers, no torn.
