Description

An 1st Mono press of RS on UK Parlophone. Matrix 1/1..this the Loud Cut version. heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover. GREAT AUDIO from this early copy>>>>

Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection I can make out quite a few slight marks per side,  a couple of superficial trails- nothing heavy or troublesome. So, it probably doesn't look like an EXC...but don't pre-judge! This copy is VERY heavy pressed and the audio is deep in the groove [protected]...A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviations. Superb audio by and large. No sweat this copy is acing i mostly....Was I a little surprised? Yes - I was a bit....surfaces are not pristine....but this is a clean player. There are issues... One track, as per usual, which isn't quite bang on --- is Michelle.. It actually plays pretty good until you get to the final 90seconds.Then a bit of distortion creeping in here and there in that final 90 seconds....Not bad - but starts to notice....I would say think of Michelle as a Vg+... it just goes off the boil literally almost at the end of side 1. You get the same issue at the end of Side 2. Little Girl - a bit of distortion just creeping into the signal path. I would say the track is still very listenable - but certainly not as clean as elsewhere on the LP...think of it as a Vg/Vg+ for [LG].  I would say given how good the rest of the Lp plays...more than acceptable. RS is very acoustically driven and lots of quiet passages for a poor copy to reveal its flaws....85% very impressive....just off the boil in that final 10%.
Cover (Vg/Vg+) Not up to the standard of the vinyl. Nice shiny front with the rear exhibiting some ageing. ...so the back is not white...make sure you can handle that. Neat name top right. Slightest edge wear. The spine exhibits minimal wear text fully legible - 90% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Lightly aged. But no splits.
