WOW! a very 1965 RARE ORIGINAL 1st U.K. Pressing on the parlophone label of The Beatles 'Rubber Soul' earliest possible...
This one also comes from a personal collection of storage items, many have sold so far & received (rightfully so) some fantastic feedback & been delivered safely to some very satisfied collectors worldwide. 100% feedback score for vinyl items.
This is how the vinyl should be, the surface is so glossy it produces a near mirror image. Even after scrutiny under extreme bright white light, I could only see some wispy hairlines caused only by the dust inner sleeve. These do not affect any play or overall look/appearance to the disc. At a certain angle when viewed ONLY under extreme bright light (halogen bulb) will you see some impression from the original dust sleeve that this record has been stored inside for years. Anything that you may see in these photos will NOT be a surface mark I.E. stain, dust, dirt, scratch etc. This would be merely a reflection from the clear chair which it was taken on.
I have the record stored inside a spare brand new dust inner. All & all a totally sublime & wonderful example of a disc. No warping or hand felt surface marks. Scratch free 100% virtually plays like a brand new record. Expected absolute minimal background (if any) between changes in tracks. This is absolutely stunning, please see the close up view. I have provided some photographs taken in different light. Daylight & artificial. Hopefully providing a close and relevant view to exactly what's on offer here.
The record has no warping & sits 100% flat on any surface. In play there are no pops, repetitive clicks, no ingrained dust, no skips, or signs of needle thrashing. This was only been played a handful of times in it's life. A very, very impressive glossy & damage free copy. The play was tremendously loud, and I noticed as I say only the slightest of (expected) usual sound from a vinyl pressing, even then it was barely a matter to be really concerned about.
Note : I would not list this record unless it was really worth listing. Especially where this band are concerned. All records offered get the same treatment & time in listing. All have to be no less than excellent. I do have some records which I consider of VG condition, but will endeavour to list only the very best of the lot. You will only see some real rarity's listed & only if they are of quality to be offering. Anyway...
I can happily give this a near mint grade, visually very impressive a real shining gem & audio to match. Test played??- YES. When test played again it was as good as I remember. If not better! so apart from any VERY visual/minimal details as listed, this is out of 100% 98% correct in condition. A real standout & very, very clean, damage free vinyl disc. Stored out of any direct sunlight inside a caring home for years..Not in the shed/loft or even worse garage.
The labels are YELLOW/BLACK standard Parlophone type. Sold in the U.K. Subtitle. KT tax code on side one. Gramophone company LTD rim text. No pre-owned handwritten names/initials etc. Only the slightest of the lightest of any spider lines around the centre spindle. These are only visable under extreme conditions. Bold and bright colours on both sides & all text if 100% fully legible. Excellent condition for both sides.
The original dust inner sleeve is present in great shape. British patent No. 800513 Foreign patents pending. Made in England. Handling/Playing inner. Poly lined inner still fully intact to the sleeve. No ripping or tearing, handwritten names etc. No damp or dirt, staining in age or otherwise. Excellent shape.
The Garrod & Lofthouse ORIGINAL flip back tabbed cover, with patents pending is without a doubt for it's age still looking better than some people out there of that same age!.
All flip back tabs are totally intact & without any problems to list. The back matt cover is super clean. No fingerprints, grubby marks, stains or age in years. Is preserved as best as possibly could be wished for. No handwritten names or ripping etc. Intact spine at the side with all text fully legible (NO SPLITTING) hardly any wear at all!! very nice & bold. Not even any bumps along the spine. Such a nice cover. The front has only the very slightest of crease (a common problem I'am told) and these are being extreme in my part of this description. Nice glossy appearance with no ripping or tearing & protected properly right up to the day of this listing....The slightest of corner wear in places, again in my description being hard on this outstanding ORIGINAL & hardest of this LP to find. The slightest of fraying/wear along the side loader. Still a very sturdy & impressive/bold example of this classic cover. No handwritten names in ink or biro pen ANYWHERE - FRONT/BACK/INSIDE. Cover is Excellent.
Finally...All that's left to say is...

>> Grading of Items All items are graded conservatively according to Record Collectors Grading System Record Collectors Grading system
Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects is acceptable
Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
CD's and CASSETTES As a general rule CD's and Cassettes either play perfectly - inwhich case they are in Mint condition - or they don't, in which case their value is minimal. Cassette tape is liable to deteriorate with age, even if it remains unplayed, so care should be taken when buying old tapes. CD's are difficult to grade visually; they can look perfect but actually be faulty, while in other cases they may appear damaged but still play perfectly. Cassette and CD inlays and booklets should be graded in the same way as record covers and sleeves. In general, the plastic containers for cassettes and CDs can easily be replaces if they are broken or scratched, but card covers and digipaks are subject to the same wear as record sleeves
