This is a beautiful '69-'70 Stereo UK One Box EMI pressing of The Beatles landmark album Rubber Soul!  The "One Box" phrase means the labels only have one large box at the top with "Parlophone" inside.  Later pressings have an extra box with "EMI" inside on top  of the Parlophone box.  These "One Box" pressings are highly collectible as they were only pressed for less than one year (Nov. 1969-1970) and therefore not as many were made.

This incredible album is housed in a MUCH rarer EJ Day sleeve as opposed to the far more common Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.  This record comes complete with the original EMI advertising inner sleeve unbelievably unsplit and crisp as new.   See below for a full condition report:

Sleeve: VG+ RARE EJ Day sleeve - a few thumbnail laminate creases along the opening and spine and a little rubbing on the corners. Perfectly legible nearly perfect spine. Remarkably white clean rear with only a couple of small spots here and there. Nice spine!! No writing or unwanted marks.

Vinyl: EX- Looks immaculate under normal light. Under bright light several light superficial hairlines are visible. Do not affect play. Bright clear audio- sounds amazing with no deterioration of sound. Only the occasional crackle in run ins and quiet parts which would no doubt be helped immensely by a good cleaning and an anti-static gun. I just played the whole record LOUD and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Inner Sleeve: EX+++++++ (basically NM)  Correct original EMI advertising inner. As close to perfect as one could hope for. Crisp, sharp and only the TINIEST amount of wear along the opening. no splitting or creases and only the normal amount of ring wear that would be expected.

Labels: NM/EX+   Absolutely superb labels! Side One doesn't even show any spindle traces and no writing or marks of any kind so feel confident grading it NM Vibrant and looks brand new. Side Two only shows a couple of the slightest spindle traces and is nearly (but not quite) as perfect as Side One so I'd grade it EX+

I ship using a sturdy cardboard mailer with the disc in a generic inner sleeve behind the jacket and placed inside a heavy duty resealable Japanese Mylar outer sleeve. I use cardboard stiffeners on each side as well to further protect the record and bubble wrap when able. 

Here is the grading scale I use:

Mint (M) … Seldom used grade, especially for used vinyl, for records that are absolutely perfect but not necessarily sealed. 

Near Mint (NM)… This is the highest grade generally given. This will be a nearly perfect record that will show no obvious signs of wear or other defects. LP covers will be nearly perfect with no seam splits, cut-out holes, creases, stickers, writing, general wear or other defects. EP and 45 rpm sleeves will also be free of all but the most minor defect. 

Excellent (EX)…  Record will show only very minor defects and generally not more than one. This is still a very nice record that will play perfectly. Only minor flaws allowed on records or sleeves. 

Very Good + (VG+) … Record will show some signs of use or handling but it has been well taken care of. Expect to see small defects like light scuffing, light scratches, minor label wear, small markings on label. Record will still play well without noise. Covers will have some wear on surface or edges, bruised corners, small seam split, small markings, small stickers but generally not a combination of defects. 

Very Good (VG) … Record will have a little heavier wear with maybe a little noise between tracks and soft passages but not enough to overwhelm the music. May have heavier small scratches but record will play through. Labels may have more obtrusive markings, tape or stickers.  Covers may be more heavily worn, markings, stickers, cut-out defects or a couple of more minor defects. 

Good (G) … Moving to the lower end quality wise and the defects will be more prominent or there may be multiple defects. Should still be playable and covers will be a little rough. 

Poor (P) … Generally this record is in the trash but it may be a hard to find piece that still has some value due to rarity. Don’t expect much.
