This edition of “The Beatles Second Album”-- Capitol C1-90444-- is the FINAL ANALOG PRESSING of the record. All the “C1-9XXXX” pressings of Capitol's catalog of Beatles recordings are recognized for their superior quality and fidelity. To the listener’s benefit, this expertly mastered record is NOT a digitally-sourced. The C1-9s were sold in small numbers as they were released in 1988, a time that coincided with the move to digital / CDs.
This stereo copy plays as new and is play graded M-. Look at the photographs of the record label and the record. The vinyl is shiny, free of any scratches or scuffs, and plays quiet.
The cover is in excellent condition. As a C1 release, the cover differs slightly from those found on earlier editions. Note that the (S)T-2080 stock number was retired with the late 1980s remastering of The Beatles recordings, hence the new “C1” stock designation and the UPC code (and despite what some sellers routinely imply, a UPC code on a vinyl record can actually be GOOD news when it indicates, as it does here, a final ANALOG, rather than a less vivacious and authentic digital pressing).
It is increasingly unlikely that you will find an appreciably better sounding analog copy of this recording.
The record will be well-packed (placed in a new MFSL inner sleeve and sent along with but outside the cover in a polypropylene outer sleeve.
