Description
Hello, my wife and I have one of the original first pressed German copies of The Beatles' Second Album For Sale. As per the Album Label, it was made in Germany. This Beatles' LP is an Odeon Label Bestell-Nr. ZTOX 5558. This album was purchased new in Germany by my wife and has been in the family ever since it was purchased, not sure what year, but had to be within a reasonable time line, when this Beatles' Album was originally released. I must say up front that we are not familiar with the professional gradings of records, but I will describe here and as you can see in the accompanying photos that this LP itself is in very good condition and has been played some over the years, but cannot honestly say how much. Both A and B sides, ( side 1 and side 2 ), of this record, when played does not skip, and to the best of my knowledge and honesty, I cannot remember how much it has been played over the years, but still sounds great, but I cannot guarantee that it would never skip when played. I personally was in commercial radio back in the early 1970's as a DJ and I respect all music and have and still do treat all music in any and all forms, with the utmost professional and " AirPlay " handling, and have thousands of records, which I still play on different phonographs. I have a massive music collection in all forms, 45's, LP's, cassettes, 8 Tracks, CD's, etc. This Beatles' record, likewise, has been treated with due highest respect. I cannot say when the last time that this particular Beatles' record was cleaned, as it has been stored in the Album Jacket, but not always kept in the paper sleeve, and stored with much of my wife and my music collection. I honestly don't know where the original paper sleeve is or remember what it looks like, but I have put the record in another " Plain Jane Record Paper Sleeve ". I have attempted over the years to keep our music library as clean as possible, even when kept stored. This Beatles' Album does have some minor markings on both A and B sides, but from a general lay person, nothing truly bad. I don't know all of the Professional Language used to describe any " MARKS ", associated with Professional Record Grading. There is several slight " Bumps " on the B side in the " Dead Center Area ". I assume this is from the original pressing of the vinyl from the manufacture. As you can see by the photographs, this is a true Made In Germany Beatles' Album as noted by the Odeon Label. I attempted to photograph the original manufacture numbers stamped in the " Center Dead Area ", on both A and B sides, ( side 1 ), A side # is YBEX 50053 and ( side 2 ), B side # is YBEX 50054, but there was too much light reflections and I could not photograph, where these manufacturing stamps would actually show up in the photograph. No ink or pencil marking on the actual label. The Gold Ring Circle shows slight markings in some areas. Side 2, there is a distinctive line beginning in the Dead Center area at the end of the last song, " She Loves You " and goes to the edge of the Gold Ring Circle. Side 2, Cut # 3, " Please Mr. Postman ", has a distinctive line running from the beginning of the cut # 3 and runs the entire length of cut # 3, but cannot feel the actual line within cut # 3. The vinyl itself is a very " HEAVY THICK " grade. The actual Album Jacket is very " HIGH GLOSS " on the front of the cover, and the back is a " LOW LUSTER ", ( my description ), look. As per the photos, you will notice the album jacket is separated completely on the top side and about half way on the bottom side. No marks on the album jacket. Overall, the Beatles' Second Album and the Album Jacket is " What You See Is The Way It Is ". I have attempted to describe this Beatles' Album and Record Jacket Cover to the best of my knowledge and anything, other flaws, etc., not described that might be noticed by the purchaser, was not overlooked in this description on purpose.
