1967 UK FIRST STEREO PRESSING
PARLOPHONE PCS 7027 : MATRIX NOs YEX-637-1/YEX-638-1
Visually, the vinyl is rather marked up and it's clear that this copy was well-loved when it was bought. There are hairlines, scratches, other marks, etc. but despite that, the record doesn't jump or skip anywhere on my system and the quality of sound is still fantastic! There is crackle but more prominently, there's a lot of ticking and popping as the stylus plays through all of the marks. If you can look past that, it still manages to provide a good playback experience and it seems like it was played on well calibrated equipment, too. The stereo first pressing of this album is truly wonderful sounding! I don't think I can provide a specific grading as your playback experience may vary but I feel like Very Good - is a rather safe bet.
The original first pressing stereo cover is in Good+ Condition. There's a fair amount of wear, including where someone has taped over the spine text to prevent further damaging but it's still holding up okay. There is some foxing to the openings, please see the photos.
Unfortunately it does not include the original inner sleeve anymore, rather a generic paper one but it does include the original cutouts sheet which can be seen in the last photo.
Please note: This copy IS rather worn down, however beyond the surface wear, the record still manages to play with no jumping and no obvious groove wear. It could be a nice collection filler / starter copy for an audiophile.
