FOR SALE IS A COPY OF THE BEATLES' "THE BEATLES STORY (STBO 2222)" STEREO 2 LP SET RELEASED ON CAPITOL RECORDS IN 1964. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL FIRST PRESSING OF THIS RECORD. WHILE MOST ORIGINAL PRESSINGS OF THIS RECORD SET CAME WITH COLORED CAPITOL SLEEVES FEATURING PICTURES OF THEIR CURRENT RELEASES, THIS COPY COMES WITH TWO ALL WHITE INNER SLEEVES WHICH HAVE THE COMPANY NAME "CAPITOL RECORDS INC." PRINTED AROUND THE ENTIRE BORDER (SEE PICTURES.) WHILE THESE "POP SLEEVES" WERE COMMONLY USED FOR CAPITOL'S "POPULAR" ARTISTS SUCH AS AL MARTINO, THEY WERE RARELY USED FOR "TEEN" ARTISTS SUCH AS THE BEATLES. THE COVER GRADES VG++ AND THE RECORDS GRADE BETWEEN VG++ AND NM-.

THE COVER IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH A VERY LIGHT AMOUNT OF RINGWEAR AND A LIGHT AMOUNT OF EDGE AND STORAGE WEAR. THE HEAVIEST OF THIS STORAGE WEAR IS ON THE TWO UPPER SEAMS OF THE COVER WHERE THERE ARE SIX SURFACE MARKS (TWO ON THE FRONT SEAM, FOUR ON THE BACK - SEE PICTURES.) THERE ARE ALSO TWO SMALL SPLITS ON THE UPPER SEAMS OF THE COVER (SEPARATE FROM THE SURFACE MARKS, BOTH MEASURING APPROX. 1/2" - SEE PICTURES.) PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A LIGHT TO MODERATE AMOUNT OF DISCOLORATION TO THE FRONT AND BACK COVER (SEE PICTURES.) ALSO, IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF THE BACK COVER, THERE IS A LABEL WHICH HAS THE NAME OF THE PREVIOUS OWNER. THIS LABEL IS COVERED IN WHAT APPEARS TO BE LIQUID TAPE (SEE PICTURES.) I HAVE NOT ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE THIS AS I DO NOT WANT TO DAMAGE THIS COVER.

THE RECORDS ARE ALSO IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH ONLY A VERY LIGHT AMOUNT OF SURFACE SCRATCHING, MOST LIKELY CAUSED FROM BEING SLID IN AND OUT OF THE INSERT SLEEVE. THERE ARE ALSO SEVERAL LIGHT NEEDLE SCUFFS PRESENT ON SIDES 1,2 AND 4 AND A SMALL, LIGHT SCUFF ON SIDE 3. NONE OF THESE MARKS CAN BE FELT TO THE TOUCH. WERE IT NOT FOR THESE NEEDLE SCUFFS (ONE OR TWO PER SIDE, SIDE 1 HAS A FEW MORE) THESE RECORDS WOULD GRADE A SOLID NM-.  WHEN PLAY TESTING THESE RECORDS, I DID NOTICE A LIGHT AMOUNT OF SURFACE NOISE, MOSTLY HEARD IN THE QUIETER SECTIONS OF THE RECORDS. ALL FOUR SIDES PLAY THROUGH WITHOUT SKIPPING AND ARE A VERY ENJOYABLE LISTEN!

THE LABELS ARE IN OVERALL GREAT SHAPE. HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A MODERATE AMOUNT OF SPINDLE MARKINGS ON THE LABELS OF SIDES 2 AND 3. THERE IS ALSO A LABEL WITH THE NUMBER "4" ON SIDE 1 OF THIS RECORD.

THE RARE CAPITOL RECORDS INC. "POP SLEEVES" ARE BOTH IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH NO SPLITTING.

PLEASE NOTE: THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THIS RECORD HAD VERY NEATLY AND CAREFULLY ETCHED THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION INTO THE DEAD WAX OF SIDES 1 AND 2 OF THESE RECORDS: HER NAME, THE DATE OF PURCHASING THE RECORD (IN THIS CASE, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 28, 64) AND "AGE 19." WHILE THIS IS AN UNCOMMON PRACTICE, IT DOES NOT CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO THE RECORDS IN THE SLIGHTEST! BUT IT IS PRESENT NONETHELESS.

BELOW I HAVE POSTED THE GRADING SYSTEM I USE FOR ALL MY RECORDS:

SEALED: Sealed at factory and never opened. Vinyl is assumed to be mint, but cannot be sure until opening.

NM: When I grade something near mint, you know the only thing that isn't perfect about it is that someone actually opened it. There could be a light scuff mark or two from taking it out of the sleeve. The jacket will look like new.

VG++: These LPs appear not to have been played more than once or twice. You can expect to see scuffs or other insignificant surface marks ­ very minor ­ that will have no effect whatsoever on the sound of the recording. Jacket will show very slight, just beginning ring wear. Maybe a little wear in the corners.

VG+: Records in this condition have obviously been played a few times, though they have been well taken care of. You can expect to see a few light marks, but they should have a minimal effect, if any at all, on the sound of the recording. Jacket will very likely show noticeble ring and edge wear and maybe one or two other minor flaws. Anything more will be noted.

VG: These albums have been played quite a few times and although not abused you will see and hear signs of use. But, the music will dominate your listening experience and you shouldn't be overwhelmed by the various vinyl nuances, such as tics, pops, crackles and hisses. You should still be able to sit back and fully enjoy listening to an album in this condition.
Jacket will have a number of flaws, such as heavy ring and seam wear, writing, small seam splits, stickers, etc.

G: I try not to go here, but if it's a rare or exceptionally great piece of music that must be heard, then I'll offer it. But the noise will be very noticeable, and you'll want to find a better copy. Still, the record will be fully playable, and you should enjoy it because it's such wonderful music. Jackets in this condition will have large seam splits, large writing, paper tears, or water damage. But it will still be fully capable of protecting the album inside.

F: I'll never go here on both the vinyl and jacket. This would have to be a case where the vinyl was playable with a bad jacket OR a real special jacket with the record not of much use. You won't see this very often!
