Description
Offered for sale is a rare 7" vinyl record by The Beatles. 'Paperback Writer / Rain' was manufactured in Germany, but released for export to Switzerland in 1966. This edition was sold to members of the Swiss 'ExLibris' record club, so copies are pretty hard to find nowadays. It comes complete with its original picture sleeve, though please note this does not have the 'Club Edition' sticker attached.
The record is as issued with its original wide centre. The vinyl is in generally good condition considering its age. There are a quite a few light scratches on both sides - perhaps more on the A side than the B side, but nothing major and it plays through fine on both sides with no skips or jumps. The B side label is good; the A side is ok but there is a red pen mark around the entire circumference (please see the pictures). Side A also has the 'Club Edition' sticker to distinguish it from the regular German pressing.
It also comes complete with its picture sleeve. This is pretty tatty - there is ringwear and it has been repaired with tape along 3 edges, but there is a split to the bottom edge and also the right edge (please see the pictures). There is also a previous owner's name and some pen marks on the rear - again, please see the pictures for this. But the sleeve has done its job of protecting the record itself.
Overall, this is a reasonable example of this rare record from The Beatles, that still has plenty of life left in it for a collector or fan.
