Description

THE BEATLES SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
Issue : UK 1st PRESS    Label : PARLOPHONE
Catalogue No : PMC 7027     Matrix : XEX 637-1 / 638-1

This is the UK 1st Press of 'Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles. The vinyl has the 1st press 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text and the earliest XEX 637-1//638-1 matrix. The original Peter Blake cut-out is completely intact and the vinyl is housed in the scarce original red and white inner sleeve. It is complete with the original laminated inner flipback Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.

The vinyl is in VERY GOOD+ condition. The vinyl has a sensational jet black gloss, every track gleams. The grooves still have their original definition, there is just one tiny mark and a few wispy light hairlines on both sides.

The label is superb, EXCELLENT condition. The black is perfect, the yellow and silver text are immaculate and there is just light spindle wear.

The sound quality is EXCELLENT. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There are moments of the very slightest noise but this is insignificant, there is fabulous clarity and audio separation throughout.

It comes complete with the 'Peter Blake' inner in MINT condition.

The scarce red and white inner sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition. This inner is extremely bright and clean. There is a split on the bottom edge and the slightest opening edge wear but the inner is still solid.

The Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold Mono laminated sleeve is in VERY GOOD+ condition. The colours are vivid, the laminate is flat and the image is sharp. The inside is exceptionally clean and bright. The flipbacks are fully intact and sealed. The spine is very firm with clear text. The back cover is also exceptionally clean and bright with just a little light ring wear. The whole sleeve is solid.
