This is a rare Stereo UK 1st Press of 'Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band' by The Beatles.
The vinyl has the 1st press 'Sold In UK' and 'Gramophone Company' label text and the earliest YEX 637-1//638-1 matrix.
The original Peter Blake cut-out is completely intact and the vinyl is housed in the scarce original red and white inner sleeve.
It is complete with the original laminated inner flipback Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve.
The vinyl is in Excellent+ condition.
This is a GREAT press, the vinyl is very good+.
The black has the original glossy jet black finish, the grooves show no sign of age or wear at all and the vinyl is completely flat.
There are some marks like baglines (no needle marks) and side 2 has a light scuff on the face but these do little to spoil the condition of this vinyl.
It has clearly been played but it is still in excellent condition not mint but excellent for its age.
The label is also in Excellent condition.
The black is perfect, the yellow and silver text are immaculate and there is no heavy spindle wear, just a very slight wear and a few spider marks.
The sound quality is Very good+. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is exceptionally rich and vibrant. There is fabulous clarity and audio separation throughout.
It sounds great.
It comes complete with the 'Peter Blake' inner that is in good condition.
The scarce red and white inner sleeve is in good condition.
The edges are solid with NO edge splits or tears.
There is a little discoloration of the white with slight foxing marks.
The Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold Stereo laminated sleeve is in Excellent+ condition.
The laminate has an absolutely stunning mirrored gloss, which is completely flat and unbubbled.
The colours are vivid and the whole of the sleeve is completely solid and flat.
The only sign of age is the tiniest corner wear.
The inside gleams like new, the laminate creaks when opened and it is in sensational bright and clean shape.
The flipbacks are fully intact and sealed.
The spine is very firm with clear text. The back cover is also exceptionally clean and bright. The edges are sensational, solid, firm and completely unworn.
This really is a rare copy of this classic beatles album.
