Item Description:

The Beatles- "singles collection".

Welcome to this auction for another great Beatles collectors' item. This great box-set consists of the 27 7" singles (45 RPM) beatles repertoire. Each single has its own picture-sleeve, except for Love Me Do / PS I Love You 20th anniversary picture-disc which is housed in a clear plastic sleeve. Some of the discs are on Parlophone labels and some on Apple labels (according to label they were originally issued on). The box also consists of the light-blue singles-list insert (which is in NM- condition).

Parlophone Cat#: BSCP1, 1982 UK-made Limited Edition.

Item condition:

Vinyl- the picture-disc is VG++/NM(-) showing just a couple of faint sleeve-marks on each side; the beatles' movie medley / I'm happy just to dance with you - side A VG++, side B NM(-); Love me do / PS I love you - side A- NM(-), side B- VG+ (a number of little surface-marks that are rather light and non-feelable); the rest of the discs are NM(-) or better. Some probably never played, some played once or just few times with good care. All discs still boast their original fresh shine, showing lonely light marks of use such as light sleeve-marks, light blemish, bit of surface-dust... All in all the discs have been well-kept during the 30 years of their existance and are in mostly near-pristine condition.

Cover- The blue-box is VG, it has an 8cm tear to the axis of the front openning. This openning part axis is still connected thanks to the axis-tape - this openning is rotating quite well but needs care. Other than this is some seam/corner-wear to different part of the box and one light seam-ding.

The top-openning picture-sleeves are all VG++, mostly crisp and well-kept, they all have some light-medium touches of sides seam-wear and light corner-wear. Some of them have light label-rim faint sign/creasing to front/back surface - but this is hardly noticed.

Labels- something / come together- B-side has some label-bubbling ; Beatles movie medley / i'm happy just to dance with you- B-side has some label-bubbling. All other labels NM/NM(-).

Grading is based on a careful visual inspection of the record's surface, labels and cover (unless 'play-test' is noted). Grading scale is as follows:

SS- Still Sealed

NM- (Near Mint)- The vinyl surface will be near perfect. Only few light negligible signs of use might be spotted under direct bright light. The Cover should also be close to perfect with the option of only the smallest flaws that are not noticed unless really looked for. I might use (+) and (-) to be more specific within the range of NM grade.

VG++ (Very Good plus plus)- surface of the vinyl will show only mild signs of use. Few light hairlines, marks, dots, paper-scuffs may be appear-able under light but in any way not affecting the quality of the sound. The cover over-all appearance will be excellent. On closer inspection the occasional touch of ring-wear, seam-wear, light crease, small stain might be found, but again, nothing that really “stands-out to the eye”.

VG+ (Very Good plus)- surface of the vinyl will show more noticeable signs of use such as a light scratch, ding, scuff, hairlines etc. Anyway, those defects will be mostly cosmetic and the deterioration of sound quality would still be subtle if at all felt. The occasional pop and crackle might be heard on the quieter parts and between tracks but could just as well be related to the record needing a good clean. Cover will show more noticeable flaws such as creasing, seam-wear, ring-wear, stickers, aging-signs etc. But all these would still be rather light and the over-all appearance of the cover should be very good.

VG (Very Good)- This is the grading for a record that's lost a more substantial part of its sound quality. More extensive evidence of careless handling of the record will be present visually and affect sound quality in the form of occasional pops, crackle, ticks, jumps etc. The cover will appear somewhat worn-out even to the naked eye. Stains, over-all wear and creasing might be present and even a small tear...

VG- (Very Good minus)- This is used for really bad looking records. I will not list items in this condition unless they are very very rare and valuable or I find them to have some other cultural value apart from their usual use.
