Description

This is an auction for a rare double LP by, The Beatles, The Beatles. Otherwise known as the 'white album'.

This was released by Apple records in 1968 and has catalogue number PMC7067/8. This is the 1st pressing with a top opening gatefold sleeve, black inners, poster, 4 colour prints. This also has a dark green Apple label with 'Sold In UK' label text. This one has a low number of 0024735 and is mono. Please check the pictures for clarification.

Matrix Numbers: XEX 709 1, XEX 710 1, LD & TH Stampers. XEX 711 1, XEX 712 1, 1R & 2R Stampers.

Condition: The top opening gatefold sleeve has a few light discolour marks, buffing to the corners, some lamination creases. There is also a light brown mark seen along the spine edge, the spine text is fine and completely legible. Lastly the impression of the vinyl itself shows through slightly on the front of the sleeve. Spine and edges ex, no tears, bends or creases, I think many of the light discolour marks will clean, the centre is in fine condition, flipback edges are ex, the mouth egde has light buffing. A nice looking sleeve and graded at VG+. The number is clear and in no way faded or distorted.

This comes with its two original black inner sleeves, one has a very small bottom edge split and both show signs of wear to the inner circle. The rear on both sleeves is excellent with no tears seen on either sleeve. The flipback edges are also in fine condition, lastly a couple of discreet dirt / finger marks can also be seen.

This also comes with its original poster, this has split along one edge and is pictured for you on supersize, other than the split it is complete but does have a couple of discreet pen / dirt marks.

This also comes with its original 4 colour prints which are in fine condition, again a couple of very discreet dirt / pen marks just seen under close examination.

All four labels look clean, Under a strong light numerous spindle trails can be seen on each side, the centre hole does show some signs of wear on side one and three. Two and four are fine.

The vinyl retains its new shine, Under a strong light several scratches can be seen on all four sides, with sides three and four certainly having a few less. I have test played this through all four sides and found only one major problem. At the end of track four, on side one, this jumps twice. Other than that it played through all four sides with no jumps or sticks. The occasional surface noise can be heard in places in the form of an occasional tick or crackle. Most tracks play completely clear with no background hiss or feckle heard whatsoever. The music itself has very strong audio, especially considering it is a mono recording. Playing strong and loud through all four sides, no fading, distortion or dragging heard whatsoever. Almost entirely playing above any feckling heard and not appearing to suffer from to much lessening in sound quality due to wear. Obviously because of the two jumps in one place I can only grade this at Fair+, fact is other than in the one spot mentioned this plays at VG and plays with no major deterioation in sound quality.

A nice collectable which is certainly better than graded and certainly better than a gap filler. Please check the pictures on supersize and any questions please feel free to ask.
