THE BEATLES / The White Album / 1st UK pressing
I won't go at all into sales pitch mode. I want to give as honest an appraisal as I can and then leave this in the lap of the ebay Gods. I've never sold one of these before but do sell quite a few records and I have to say that in my opinion this is an extremely good quality copy. It has only been with me for a short time and I've handled it a lot in that time. I've picked it up and put it down and picked it up and put it down and had the vinyl out many times. It is a heavy (over 500gms), big, beautiful record.
Apart from that I'll try to be as non-subjective as I can.
This is a first pressing of the white album, The Beatles, and is numbered 0030643. It is intact with black die-cut inner sleeves, poster and all four photos.
The particulars are so: Hybrid album. Disc 1: PMC 7067 Disc 2: PCS 7068 with "Sold in UK" text.
Cover - EX. Top Loading. Very sturdy. There is no damage of any kind and very little general wear. Embossed of course and numbered 0030643. I haven't seen all that many of these but this is the best by far. The front is very, very clean and tidy. The laminate it totally intact and the colour/hue is even, although more light cream in colour than white, no light and dark or yellow and white patches. The spine is perfect as are all of the corners. The back and front are equally as good as each other. There is a small stain in the bottom left corner (less than 1cm square) where some liquid has penetrated (see pic). The poster is in good order with no damage and the 4 pics are as new.
Vinyl - VG Side 1: Some light surface marks but plays through completely well. No jumps or major clicks or pops. Side 2: In normal light it looks spotless. Under a strong spotlight there are a few very light surface marks. Side 3: Under normal light it look virtually perfect. In strong light there are a few visible marks. Side 4: Some light surface marks (not scratches as such) are hardly audible.
On the whole all 4 sides are without background noise and play through beautifully.
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
I am not a professional dealer but I do try at all times to grade items accurately. Hopefully my feedback score will allow you bid with confidence.
