A WORD ABOUT MY RATING SYSTEM: I AM VERY CONSERVATIVE; I DO NOT USE "EXCELLENT" AS A RATING AS IT IS NOT RECOGNIZED BY "GOLDMINE" AS A VALID DESCRIPTION. MY "VG+" WOULD BE AN "EXCELLENT" OR EVEN "NM-" WITH MANY OTHER SELLERS. BID WITH CONFIDENCE; VIEW MY FEEDBACK; SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.
Up this week are 9 Classic Beatles bootleg albums that were included in a private collection I recently purchased. I have not played them, but each one I'm offering has been cleaned on my VPI record cleaner (16.5 model), and visually inspected. I rate NOTHING "Mint" unless it is sealed. I hesitate to rate "Near Mint" on any bootleg as the quality of the vinyl (let alone the fidelity) was rarely, if ever, the quality one would expect from a legitimate recording. Audiophiles need not apply!
Regardless of the range in quality of the material and manufacturing, they are an essential part of Rock 'N' Roll history; the first peek at unreleased gems that, in many cases, still haven't been released while in other cases appeared over 2 decades later on the "Anthology" albums (which arguably may have never been released had it not been for the long-running business of bootleg releases, and the demand for such recordings by hardcore fans)
This offering, "Those Were The Days", is a hodge-podge of sorts. I used to own a copy of this back in the day. Side One consisted of 1963 Swedish Radio Show performances, and other radio broadcasts including selections from the "Kenny Everett" shows, while Side Two is filled out with selections from the Beatles' 1964 Ed Sullivan appearances.
