Description
THE BEATLES
WHITE ALBUM
1968 1st Stereo Pressing
1st Matrices -1/ -1/ -1/ -1
Sleeve:
The sleeve is in Good Plus Condition. Sturdy and strong, quite neat - no creasing on front or rear panel. It is very clean and glossy and is an original top opening numbered sleeve. There is no edge wear or spine wear, no repairs, no writing or writing imprints etc. Some crease lines emanating from the outer edges.
Inner Sleeves: Excellent reproductions fully intact.
Photo’s and Poster: A set from a later pressing but in Excellent condition.
Vinyl’s: In Fair Plus to Good Plus Condition. Has some light hairlines over some of their surfaces revealed which are superficial to the surfaces i.e. nothing obtrusive, only one surface scratch on which is on Side 4. There is no groove wear, warps, scuffs, needle drops or anything a major detractions. Retains an original glossy pressing shine all over every side, Have received many plays but have been treated well. Decent examples.
The Labels: Very Good. A little play-use evident and has some blemishes on the labels.
The ‘An E.M.I. Recording’ text is omitted on each record label making this a very early 1st pressing. This is even rarer to find on Stereo copies than it is to find on Mono copies.
Early Mothers/ Stampers:
Side 1 - 1 GO
Side 2 - 1 GT
Side 3 - 1 L
Side 4 - 2 GG
The Audio: Plays with clear Stereo channelling, warm bass and lucid detail. It sounds surprising clear throughout with a little light background but nothing which spoils. There is a jump on Mother Nature’s Son, Revolution, and Cry Baby Cry. There is a small stick on Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me and My Monkey, Helter Skelter, and Long, Long, Long. No clicks, pops, skips, or loud tics.
