The BEATLES - THE WHITE ALBUM

Graded as EXCELLENT TO EXCELLENT + Overall

A VERY nice condition, highly presentable, complete and

Extremely Low Numbered 0036113 (BELOW 50,000)

copy of this extremely hard to find and sought after 1968 original UK very 1st press Matrix ending -1 on all four sides Beatles masterpiece, on the APPLE record label, MONO, PMC 7067/8

So rare and hard to come by in this condition and totally complete, top opening sleeve and with all components including 4 Photos, Lyric Poster

A Very early TRUE, UK 1st pressing misprint Version ( quickly noticed and changed labels on later numbered editions) So therefore, omitting " An EMI Recording"  on any of the 4 labels (later added above the 33 1/3)  and always evident on later pressings.

NOTES

Initial numbered edition with top opening G & L gatefold sleeve, black inners, poster & 4 colour prints, dark green Apple labels with ? & "Sold In The UK...." text.
This was released in error omitting the text 'E.M.I. Recording' on the label, so a second version The Beatles was promptly released with the corrected labels.

Eric Clapton uncredited on A7 for contractual reasons.

CONDITION SUMMARY

In normal daylight the appearance of each of the Vinyl's is EXCELLENT+ TO EXCELLENT OVERALL

Each vinyl is nice and weighty and completely flat, and each side of each vinyl has retained a nice black glossy mirror like sheen and they really do gleam in normal light. Under a brighter light each side has ONLY one or two NON FEELABLE AND VERY LIGHT hairlines that do come into view, but none are "feelable" or are below the surface, with all appearing to be superficial only.

No effect on playback whatsoever !!!!!  But again I should stress that there is nothing that is feelable and nothing that is obviously below the surface. nothing intrusive and certainly nothing to diminish the overall impressive audio quality. Really nice condition over all 4 sides !!!

Clearly each vinyl has been played BUT SPARINGLY MAYBE 5-10 TIMES IN TOTAL IN 54 YEARS !!! this is evident by the fact each label shows only feint spindle lines to the centre,  Superb !!!!

The Centre Labels are Excellent ++.

Wonderfully impressive labels with all text, all colouring, and the iconic dark green (not lighter green as on subsequent non-first press releases) APPLE logo with black writing upon the smooth white background all remaining in great condition with some faint spindle trails on each label. Again, note the absence of any reference to "An EMI Recording " on any of the labels - an indicator of a very early UK 1st pressing.

The condition of the Laminated Outer Gatefold Sleeve is VG++ to Excellent

A VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS VERY LOW NUMBERED 0036113 SLEEVE

LOVELY CLEAN EXAMPLE OF THIS NOTORIOUSLY RARE TO FIND WHITE LAMINATED SLEEVE IN DECENT CONDITION ( SEE PICTURES)

No unwanted writing or doodles anywhere, and no cardboard creasing either. The top opening edges are firm with minimal fraying ,the spine is fully intact, with just a small edge crease separation only,

"The BEATLES" remains beautifully embossed upon the front cover, and the interior flip-backs remain in great shape. The whole gatefold has a lovely glossy feel and sheen about it and remains in amazing condition after 54 years - obviously not perfect, but very very NICE condition overall. One of the better White Album sleeves I have seen and would possibly improve even more with a professional clean ?

Finally, the Quality of the MONO Audio is EXCELLENT.

There is great tone and clarity throughout even at higher volume and frequencies. There are no jumps, repeats, skips or obvious clicking and background crackle is at an absolute minimum on disc 1 (sides 1 and 2) maybe a tiny bit on Dear Prudence , and a little more noticeable on disc 2 (sides 3 and 4) where some light background interference can be heard during some of the interludes and quieter moments (" Helter Skelter", and the intro to "Long, Long, Long", for example). I must stress though, that despite these relatively minor glitches, the sound quality and listening experience remains impressive overall.

A professional clean, which I don't have access to unfortunately, may well eliminate any background crackle and promote the audio experience to a Near Mint grading but being honest it is very minimal and only between a few tracks, once music kicks in it is not evident.

A super Audio experience !!!

COMES COMPLETE WITH x4 Beatle photos , these are all in truly Excellent Plus to NEAR MINT Condition

AND the lipstick lyric poster, with just a couple of tiny age spots, no rips or creases

I DONT THINK THEY HAVE LEFT THE SLEEVE UNTIL TODAY TO PHOTOGRAPH ?

No splits, no unwanted writing or doodles, no blue tack or drawing pin holes in either the photos or the lyric poster, and no obvious creasing, which all adds to the value and rarity of this highly desirable 1st pressing.

Comes with correct original, one hole, curved corners,  black inner sleeves with one small side split on each , minimal fraying on the top edges, - a solid Excellent overall with each sleeve remaining fully functional.

In summary a nicely impressive condition and highly presentable copy of this fiercely sought after 1968 very first UK press Beatles classic, made all the more rare and desirable by it's extremely low number, great condition Records and LOW NUMBERED SLEEVE !!!!! -

A "must" for any serious Beatles vinyl collection and only continuing to gain in value.
