The BEATLES - THE WHITE ALBUM
Graded as Very Good+ TO Excellent Overall
A nice condition, highly presentable, complete and extremely low numbered 0074734 copy of this extremely hard to find and sought after 1968 original UK very 1st press Beatles masterpiece, on the APPLE record label, MONO, PMC 7067/8
rare and hard to come by in this condition and totally complete, top opening sleeve and with all components so ni- very early UK 1st pressing misprint so omitting EMI recording on any of the 4 labels (later added and always evident on later pressings)
NOTES
Initial numbered edition with top opening G & L gatefold sleeve, black inners, poster & 4 colour prints, dark green Apple labels with ? & "Sold In The UK...." text. This was released in error omitting the text 'E.M.I. Recording' on the label, so a second version The Beatles was promptly released with the corrected labels.

CONDITION
In normal daylight the appearance of each of the vinyls is EXCELLENT
Each vinyl is nice and weighty and completely flat, and each side of each vinyl has retained a nice black glossy mirror like sheen and they really do gleam in normal light. Under a brighter light each side has ONLY one or two NON FEELABLE AND VERY LIGHT hairline that do come into view, one across all of side 4 but none are "feelable" or appear to be below the surface with all appearing to be superficial only. No effect on playback whatsoever !!!!! But again I should stress that there is nothing that is feelable and nothing that is obviously below the surface. nothing intrusive and certainly nothing to diminish the overall impressive audio quality.
Clearly each vinyl has had very minimal plays evident by the fact each label shows only feint spindle lines to the centre, certainly not overplayed at all in 52 years. Superb !!!!
The labels are Excellent ++.
Wonderfully impressive labels with all text, all colouring, and the iconic dark green (not lighter green as on subsequent non-first press releases) APPLE logo with black writing upon the smooth white background all remaining in great condition with some faint spindle trails on each label. Again, note the absence of any reference to "EMI" on any of the labels - an indicator of a very early UK 1st pressing.
The condition of the laminated outer gatefold sleeve is VG+
A NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS SLEEVE
As per usual with this infamous sleeve there is some sunlight colour loss and a price tag scar and marks on the front but no unwanted writing or doodles anywhere, No laminate lifting and no cardboard creasing either. The top opening edges are firm with minimal fraying ,the spine is fully intact "The BEATLES" remains beautifully embossed upon the front cover, and the interior flip-backs remain in great shape. The whole gatefold has a lovely glossy feel and sheen about it and remains presentable - far from perfect, but acceptable condition overall. would possibly improve with a professional clean ?
Finally, the quality of the MONO audio is EXCELLENT.
There is great tone and clarity throughout even at higher volume and frequencies. There are no jumps, repeats, skips or obvious clicking and background crackle is at an absolute minimum on disc 1 (sides 1 and 2), and a little more noticeable on disc 2 (sides 3 and 4) where some light background interference can be heard during some of the interludes and quieter moments ("Mother Nature's Son", and the intro to "Long, Long, Long", for example). I stress though, that despite these relatively minor glitches, the sound quality and listening experience remains impressive overall.
A professional clean may eliminate any background crackle and promote the audio experience to a Near Mint grading but being honest it is very minimal and only between a few tracks, once music kicks in it is not evident.
The tracks are :
Side 1 :
1. BACK IN THE U.S.S.R.
2. DEAR PRUDENCE
3. GLASS ONION
4. OB-LA-DI, OB-LA-DA
5. WILD HONEY PIE
6. THE CONTINUING STORY OF BUNGALOW BILL
7. WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS
8. HAPPINESS IS A WARM GUN
Side 2 :
1. MARTHA MY DEAR
2. I'M SO TIRED
3. BLACKBIRD
4. PIGGIES
5. ROCKY RACCOON
6. DON'T PASS ME BY
7. WHY DON'T WE DO IT IN THE ROAD
8. I WILL
9. JULIA
Side 3 :
1. BIRTHDAY
2. YER BLUES
3. MOTHER NATURE'S SON
4. EVERYBODY'S GOT SOMETHING TO HIDE EXCEPT ME AND MY MONKEY
5. SEXY SADIE
6. HELTER SKELTER
7. LONG LONG LONG
Side 2 :
1. REVOLUTION 1
2. HONEY PIE
3. SAVOY TRUFFLE
4. CRY BABY CRY
5. REVOLUTION 9
6. GOOD NIGHT
Comes with original lyric poster and x4 Beatle photos, the photos are in truly excellent plus condition to NEAR MINT Condition
The lyric poster is Excellent plus with just some very minor wear : no seam splits, no unwanted writing or doodles, no blue tack or drawing pin holes in either the photos or the lyric poster, and no obvious creasing, which all adds to the value and rarity of this highly desirable 1st pressing.
Comes with black inner sleeves with no seam splits, , barely any fraying on the top edges, - a solid excellent/ near mint overall with each sleeve remaining fully functional.
In summary a nicely impressive condition and highly presentable copy of this fiercely sought after 1968 very first UK press Beatles classic, made all the more rare and desirable by it's extremely low number - a "must" for any serious Beatles vinyl collection and only continuing to gain in value.
