The Beatles - The Beatles ("The White Album")
Mega-Rare US Misprint Copy with Upside-Down Gatefold Slick!
Not a 1st pressing, as all the labels have the correct song titles, but still an earlier pressing with the Capitol logo on the Sides 2 and 4 labels, "The Beatles" embossed on the front, and a unique number printed on the front (A2850964).
This was pressed at Capitol's Scranton plant ("IAM" stamps in the runouts).
Jacket Condition: G+ Front and back show the usual ringwear. Some ringwear is also visible inside the gatefold. There are three seam splits: 1) bottom seam of the first disc pocket (at the opening) - 3.75 inches; 2) bottom seam of the first disc pocket (at the spine) - 1 inch; 3) bottom seam of the second disc pocket (at the opening) - 1 inch; 4) top seam of the second disc pocket (center) - 1.25 inches. No other serious flaws - just have a look at the photos.
Disc Conditions: F (Disc 1) / G+ (Disc 2) Disc 1 actually appears VG+ on first glance, but skips numerous times on Side 2, especially on "Blackbird" and "Rocky Raccoon" (multiple times on each song). This is due to some initially inconspicuous scratches which just happen to be at bad angles. Disc 2 has numerous light, dull streaks from contact with the oxidizing original inner sleeve, but no troublesome scratches like on Disc 1.
Both discs will be cleaned using the Spin Clean Record Washer and placed in brand-new MoFi inner sleeves. The original blank inner sleeves will also be included.
The poster and the four photos are included. However, these did not originally come with this copy when I purchased it secondhand over 10 years ago. Instead, I found the poster and photos loose in another record collection (one without any copy of the White Album, ironically) and put them with this copy of the album. Thus, I cannot guarantee that the poster and these photos match this pressing of the White Album. They are included as bonus pieces. The poster has wrinkles and a couple of splits along the folds, while the photos have some tape tears and residue. Again, look at the photos to judge for yourself.
