RARE MONO, VERY HARD TO FIND IN THIS ALL ROUND SUPERB CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE VINYL LP SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL
Arguably one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple **FIRST ISSUE MONO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This SUPERB Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS Plus Photo Spacer, an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS, the set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED 0043039 GATEFOLD Sleeve.
LP Description:
The TWO First Issue MONO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, with ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale, and with ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to ALL four sides of the record labels, all four record labels are in Excellent Plus condition, showing just some centre spindle lines.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix XEX 709-1 & Side 2: XEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 5OM & Side 2 stampers are: 5TT.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: XEX 711-1 & Side 4: XEX 712-1.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 1 RG & Side 4 stampers: 7 LT.
The TWO 12” Vinyl LPs are in Excellent condition, nice clean vinyl discs showing only light surface marks and surface hairlines.
Both of the original black inner bags are in Excellent condition, both inner bags are free from any tears and seam splits, and show just light creases.
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0043039, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing, the gatefold sleeve is in beautifully preserved Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition, a very nice firm and clean sleeve, showing corner bumps, and very mild age toning to the edges, the spine is also firm with NO laminate flaking, just age toning to the top 3” of the spine, the inside of the gatefold is perfect and shows NO damage.
There are 4 ORIGINAL Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS, and photograph spacer in Near Mint condition, no creasing or pinholes.
And the ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, in perfect Near Mint condition, no tearing or creasing, or any other damage.
Play Quality:
Having carefully played both LPs, all FOUR sides play well throughout, with some mild background crackle, and light surface noise, there are no skips to any of the tracks, the album still produces a great Mono sound quality.
Not surprisingly, Beatles UK White albums in MONO are EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER, and this is beautiful example, complete with all it’s original first issue inserts, and a lowish numbered MONO sleeve. The White Album is becoming INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO FIND in ORIGINAL,COMPLETE, & in nice condition.
