SUPERB CONDITION, ALL COMPONENTS IN THIS COMPLETE SET ARE 100% ORIGINAL, THIS ALBUM WAS PURCHASED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF RELEASE.
Considered to be one of most INFLUENTIAL and ICONIC Albums of the 20th Century, this is an ORIGINAL 1968 UK Apple ** FIRST ISSUE STEREO** TWO Vinyl LP Set for The Beatles WHITE Album, entitled ‘The BEATLES’.
This HIGHLY IMPRESSIVE Set is 100% COMPLETE, with TWO ORIGINAL UK FIRST ISSUE STEREO VINYL LPs, Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS one of each Beatle (Plus Photograph Spacer), an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse, Two ORIGINAL MATT BLACK INNER BAGS. The set is housed within its ORIGINAL, First Issue, Fully Laminated TOP OPENING, NUMBERED & STICKERED STEREO GATEFOLD Sleeve, with ‘Stereo sticker’ to the top right hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve.
LP Description/Condition:
The TWO First Issue STEREO Vinyl LPs are on the traditional DARK GREEN Apple label, all bearing the ‘Sold in UK Subject to resale.…’, ‘With An E.M.I. Recording Reference on all four record labels’ and ‘Mfd. In UK’ label text to ALL four sides of the record labels. All four labels are printed ‘Stereo’.
All four record labels in superb Near Mint condition, CLEAN, UNDAMAGED record labels, vivid Black Print, showing only a couple of light, hardly visible, short centre spindle lines to each label, please note that the side 2 record label has the spelling error of **ROCKY RACOON**, with RACOON spelt with one letter C.
All 4 sides of the vinyl discs are in Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition, both vinyl discs still retain their glossy shine, with nothing more than a few very light superficial surface hairlines,there are NO scuffs or deep scratches to any of the vinyl surfaces.
Disc 1, Side 1 matrix YEX 709-1 & Side 2: YEX 710-1.
Disc 1, Side 1 stampers: 6GDR & Side 2 stampers are: 2 LH.
Disc 2, Side 3 matrix: YEX 711-1 & Side 4: YEX 712-1.
Disc 2, Side 3 stampers: 3 GAL & Side 4 stampers: 2 MO .
There does not appear to be any KT Tax codes on the record labels.
The TWO 12” Vinyl LPs come in their ORIGINAL Matt Black Die Cut Inner Bags which are in RESPECTABLE Very Good Plus condition, the bags do have some inevitable creasing, one of the bags has a small tear to the opening edge..
….And are housed in an ORIGINAL, FULLY LAMINATED Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD Sleeve. This FIRST ISSUE Sleeve is TOP OPENING and NUMBERED 0044203, printed to the lower portion of the front of the sleeve. ‘The BEATLES’ is embossed a little way up above the number. The sleeve opens out to reveal black and white portraits of each of The Beatles together with the track listing, the top right hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve has a printed **Stereo Sticker** this Stereo wording is usually printed at the very top of the reverse of the sleeve.
The Original Fully Laminated Gatefold sleeve is in Excellent Plus condition. This is a FIRM, and GLOSSY sleeve throughout, with only mild record indentation to the front, and light age toning towards the spine edge, the back panel is UNDAMAGED, with only mild record indentation, and again light age toning towards the spine edge, the inner gatefold is in undamaged and a very clean Excellent Plus condition, the spine edge is FINE, with a little age toning, the printed wording ‘The Beatles, Stereo PCS 7067-8, Mono PMC 7067-8‘ is readable. There are NO seam splits to any of the edges of the sleeve.
There are Four ORIGINAL Full Colour GLOSSY PHOTOGRAPHS – one of each Beatle - All four photos are all in Near Mint condition, with NO tearing or pinholes, the photo spacer is inExcellent condition, showing light creasing only.
And an ORIGINAL Large Format, Double Sided, Lyric POSTER printed by Garrod and Lofthouse which is in undamaged Excellent Plus condition, there are no pinholes or tearing to the poster, just some very mild creasing.
Play Quality:
Having played both LPs, all FOUR sides play superb throughout all the tracks, there are NO skips, pops or clicks, a really clear fresh Stereo sound quality.
This is a very nice example of an original and complete 1968 Beatles STEREO White Album, 100% complete with all it’s original inserts, as purchased back in 1968.
