Description
For auction the Beatles classic 1968 UK 1st pressing (MONO) double Vinyl album ... The white album! serial number No, 0078949 with its original black innersleeves and poster, the four prints are not present!
Condition. the gatefold laminated flipbacked sleeve is in a VERY GOOD clean overall condition, with no damage or heavy creasing, the spine is clear and legible and the embossed BEATLES LOGO and serial number are clear to the front panel! there is no word stereo to the top right rear panel, making this the original MONO sleeve, just some age related handling and rubbing marks!
The two original black inners are also in nice condition and both grade VERY GOOD! The original uk "kiss lips" poster is in a GOOD PLUS condition with one parted seam, but overall is clean and intact!
All four apple labels hold the SOLD IN THE UK etc. text SIDE 4. has the seldom seen KT tax code, spindle trails are evident on all four as you would expect but no graffiti, graded VERY GOOD PLUS.
VINYLS. SIDE 1. XEX 709-1 1 RP is in a clean VERY GOOD PLUS condition with a nice original shine, no groove wear and not too many surface marks! play tested fine with no problems, just the usual background expected from a 42 yr old played vinyl disc!
SIDE 2. XEX 710-1 7 GGT is also in a very nice condition as side 1. with the usual handling marks evident, but an original shine is maintained and grades VERY GOOD PLUS play tested with no problems and the disc lies flat on the turntable with no warp or dish effect!
SIDE 3. XEX 711-1 3 0A grades VERY GOOD PLUS nice and clean and playtested with no problems!
SIDE 4. XEX 712-1 4 HL grades VERY GOOD with a 3cm light but "feelable" stylus mark that has no effect on playback, which sounded great in punchy MONO on my TECHNICS DECK and CLASS AA amp with MISSION SPEAKERS, and a nice overall shine to the vinyl is retained, this disc also lies flat on the turntable with no warp or dish effect!
The four prints are not present! .... long gone on some fans wall no doubt??? but you can pick up a set on ebay!
Overall a nice played example of the hard to find MONO version of this classic album with a nice low number, and buy with confidence.... i get my gradings right (see feedback!) ...or your money back!
