Description
This is a great condition and great playing original U.K. mono issue of The Beatles ‘White Album’.
The original top opening gatefold sleeve is in all round VG+ condition. It has the usual age-related discolouration ut the spine is intact and readable and there is no writing and there are no tears.
The original and famously fragile black paper inner sleeves are in intact VG+ condition
The original poster is in excellent condition
The original photos are in VG+ condition with only some age related mild discolouration
Stamper numbers are. 2AM, 7 PL, 4 ML and 2RH - nice early examples.
All sides of the album are pressed with the earliest 1 matrices.
The labels are all clean and show only minor spindle wear.
Side 1 - visually at least VG. Some minor scuffs and hairlines but nothing deep or worrying. Plays as a VG+ with occasional crackles but no sticks skips or jumps.
Side 2 - visually VG+ and also plays VG+ - again no sticks skips or jumps
Sides 3 and 4 visually VG but also VG+ sonically.
Whilst the labels are from what some would describe as the 2nd issue - they have the corrected ‘An EMI recording’ text - this is not actually relevant to how early the records were pressed.
There are many so-called 1st press copies, where the labels miss out the EMI recording text, which have records pressed later in the run, with later matrix numbers such as 1/2/1/2 and later stamper numbers.
This is a complete original copy of the much-desired true Mono press - the last Beatles studio album to have both a Mono and Stereo version.
