Description
Another reluctant sale from my collection. The Beatles double "White Album", released on Apple PMC7076. First press mono , top opening sleeve complete with the black inner sleeves, four photographs and poster. Low number of 0092906.
The cover has coloured slightly over the years (haven't virtually all of them) and has a downwards 2cm tear half way along the top rear. The spine is worn from folding. Otherwise it is in crisp and clean condition.
The four glossy photographs of John, Paul, George and Ringo are in excellent condition with no marks. The poster has some light splitting where it has been folded but has no writing or blu-tack marks.
One of the two black inners has some tears around the label hole. The other is intact and apart from the inevitable ringwear is in great condition for it's age.
The vinyl does have some light surface marks but audibly this is generally a great copy. Side one has only the occasional very light crackle with no 'pops' except one on the run-out. There are some 'pops' on side two but nothing to really interfere with the listenning quality. There is a surface scratch across side three but again, because of the depth of vinyl of these pressings it does not produce anything but the occasional light 'pop' and crackle. Side four has the usual light crackle and 'pop' during the run-ins to be expected from an album of this age. These flaws do not detract from the overall music quality of this album which I would rate as VG ++. Obviously there is no sticking or jumping of the stylus whatsoever.The matrix and stamper nos are: Side 1 XEX709-1 / '0' GGR - Side 2 XEX710-1 / '5' GMO - Side 3 XEX711-1 / '5' AG - Side 4 XEX712-1 / '1' GGP.
THe labels have the "An E.M.I. Recording" text. They are clean without any writing or noticable spindle wear.
Those of you out there who have bought from me previously will know that I try to be as accurate as possible with my descriptions - sometimes to a point of being over critical. But, being a collector myself and not a dealer, I believe honesty to be the best policy and only fair to other collectors. Please see my photographs.
