Records are visually graded, but I do listen to intros for crackle and clarity, and play through any marks. Please read the entire listing to avoid any misunderstanding.
THE BEATLES – WITH THE BEATLES – 1st PRESS STEREO – JOBETE DOMION & GOTTA – VG
A decent playable copy of the rare 1st Stereo pressing of With the Beatles. Not a perfect copy, there are quite a lot of light surface lines, but nothing that looks particularly deep (see below for full playback details).
Matrices: YEX 110-2 and YEX 111-2
Labels have “Recording first published 1963”, but no “Sold in the UK” text.
There is an embossed K/T tax code either side of the spindle hole on Side 1, but no tax code on the sleeve.
Side 2 Track 3 is listed on both sleeve and label as “You Really Gotta Hold On Me” and publishing credit on the label for this track is the misprint “Domion Mus”.
Side 2 Track 7 (Money) has the rare “Jobete Mus” publishing credit.
In view of the surface marks, I played the whole thing again before listing it and there are no sticks or jumps. Sound quality is really good, not “tinny”, bass and drums all clear. There is some very light crackle during run-ins and some of the gaps between tracks, but others are very quiet. Played at a decent volume and no serious background to the music, all very clear. Mostly plays VG+ or EX.
Still comes in the original “Emitex” tracing paper lined inner sleeve.
Cover VG, but with no tears or splits. Small lines of laminate lift on the front and start of a light circle line. The rear is very clean for an unlaminated sleeve. I think for 59 years old and played regularly, it’s survived very well.
