WITH THE BEATLES PMC 1206, 22/11/1963, mono. The Beatles second official L.P. release.
This pressing has the Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve with large “mono” on front.
Front only laminated cover with large “mono” on front. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Parlophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Recording first published 1963?. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. With KT tax code on the label. Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 447-1N; Side 2: XEX 448-1N.
The sleeve incorrectly spells track 3 on side two as "YOU REALLY GOTTA HOLD ON ME" but the label
has the correct "YOU REALLY GOT A HOLD ON ME"
First pressings had the matrices 447-1N & 448-1N. During pressing it was noticed that the credits & spelling on the labels and covers were incorrect i.e. the track ‘Money’ was given the incorrect “Jobete” credit and the track “You Really Got A Hold on Me” was misspelled on the cover and on the labels as “Gotta”. These errors were only noticed after a quantity of 1N mis-pressings had been made. The errors were soon corrected and the matrix numbers on the record almost immediately started to rise from 1N to 3N, 4N, 5N, 6N and finally ending with 7N, with which the majority of 1963 mono were pressed.
This shows that THIS DISC was in that narrow window of the corrected title "You Really Got A Hold On Me" on the label"
and BEFORE the matrix numbers rose from 1N to 3N. Few of these exist.
RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1963 text but NO "SOLD IN UK"
The sleeve is in wonderful condition, one of the best I have ever seen. No heavy creases or writing on it. No tears and only a couple of thin line creases at the edges. The spine is straight and true and fully legible. None of the edges shows any sign of wear and not even a corner bump. Beautiful vibrant colour with no fading.Just a hint of ring wear BUT only seen in a certain light. Just a hint of ring wear BUT only seem a certain light.
The rear is equally impressive. No grubbiness no writing or marks. Use the zoom facility for a better view.
The vinyl has some sleeve removal marks and a few hairlines but plays with little lessening in sound quality.
There are NO LOUD pops NO LOUD repetitive clicks or LOUD tics. A super sounding record.
Absolutely nothing serious like repeats or skips.

Grading is as follows based on collector magazine UK
MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.
V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.
FAIR: Fair. It is noticeable that the record has been played so much that the sound quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The cover and contents are showing signs of folding, scuffing of edges etc.
Further information. All records are separated from the covers and sent in a brand new polythene sleeve and packed in heavy duty cardboard.
