This is a UK 1st press of the 'White Album' by The Beatles. This press has the top opening sleeve, dark green Apple labels, ''Sold In The UK' and 'Mfd In UK' label text, black inner sleeves, four photographs and the lyric poster. The records have the earliest 1/1/1/1 matrix and the original wonderful heavy vinyl.
The records are in Very Good condition. The vinyl on each side is extremely glossy, with no whitening of the grooves at all, there are just a few light marks on each side. The dark green Apple labels are completely clean. The green is exceptionally bold, and the white is bright. The black text is sharp and there is only the very slightest spindle wear on both records. On playing the sound is vibrant and extremely clear. There is some light occasional background noise but certainly no distortion, skips or jumps. The voices are rich and sharp and the backing is warm and clear.
The records are complete with their original black inner sleeves. There is a little wear to the opening edges and a tiny edge split plus some inner circle wear, otherwise there are solid and clean.
The photographs are in Excellent condition. The colours are vivid and they all have their original just pressed sheen.
The matt double sided poster is in Excellent condition. The colours are bold and the whites are still bright.
The Garrod & Lofthouse top opening laminated sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate has an amazing high gloss and it is completely clean. The white has only slight discolouration, it is still exceptionally bright and the number and Beatles embossed text are sharp and entirely unworn. There is a light crease in the corner. On opening the inside images and text are superb. The flipbacks are sealed and complete with no discolouration of any kind. The edges are incredibly firm and unworn. The spine is very solid and the text is sharp.
