This is a UK Original press of 'The White Album' by The Beatles. This press has the top opening sleeve, dark green Apple labels, black inner sleeves in fabulous condition, four photographs and the lyric poster. The photographs are printed on the original heavier paper, they are not the flimsy reissue prints. The records have the early 2/1/1/1 matrix numbers and the early mothers and stampers 1-G / 2-AT / 2-RH / 1-A. It is pressed on the original heavy early vinyl.
The records are in Very Good+ condition. The vinyl is still jet black with no sign of heavy play at all. The grooves are sharp, there are just a few very light marks. The dark green Apple labels are in sensational condition, the colours are rich, the white is bright and the text is sharp. There is NO spindle wear. The sound quality is Excellent - superb definition throughout. Rich, warm audio, with just a few moments of brief noise. The sound is still clear, bright and even though there are moments of noise, it is still a pleasure from start to finish.
The records are complete with their original black inner sleeves in Excellent condition. These inners are always so worn, but these original black inners are firm, with only one edge split and only light opening edge wear. The black is still bold, the centres are unworn and the sleeves are extremely solid.
The 4 photographs are in Excellent condition. The colours are vivid and they all have their original just pressed sheen. The back of the photos are very clean and bright.
The original press matt double sided poster has NO fold splits, it is solid and bright. There are a couple of age spots and the slightest wear to the outer edges but this does little to spoil a poster in Excellent condition.
The Garrod & Lofthouse Mono top opening laminated sleeve is in Very Good condition. The laminate has an amazing high gloss and it is completely clean. The white has a little discolouration, but it is still bright and the number and Beatles embossed text are sharp and entirely unworn. There is light spine and opening edge wear and a light corner mark. On opening the cover still has the wonderful firm laminate creak and the inside images and text are superb. The flipbacks are sealed and complete. The edges are firm and the whole sleeve is extremely solid. 586 (GS 6.8 (586))
