Description

THE BEATLES   WITH THE BEATLES

amazing Beatles rarity with an uncorrected Robert Freeman cover and misplaced mono!!!

on offer very early 'With The Beatles' LP orig 1963 UK Mono 1st press Y&B Parlophone label

what makes it special?  this is one of the all time rarest mono 1st pressing's - very few made!!

when this LP was first released there was a major label error, where 'Jobete' was incorrectly

credited for the song 'Money, and the track 'You Really Got A Hold Of Me' was mispelled

'Gotta' instead of 'Got A'. Naturally EMI had to act fast and decided to change the labels and

the matrixes on the LP. However before the matrixes could be changed an absolutely

tiny numbers of copies leaked out with the correct 'Dominion Belinda' credits for 'Money', and

'Got To' correctly spelt on the labels. And this is what makes this LP so seriously rare,

because 99% of 1N/1N 1st pressings actually have the incorrect labels and only a fraction

have the 'corrected' labels like this does - which makes it easily the rarest pressing of this LP!

Not only that but what makes this LP even rarer is that it also has the 'earliest possible' 1st

press 'Darker Coloured Cover'. This ultra rare 'Darker Coloured' Cover only occured on a

handful of the earliest 1st pressings and was quickly 'corrected'. The first few covers wear

made were pressed far too dark by Ernest J. Day and complaints were made immediately

about the clarity and darkness of the Beatles faces  (see pic 3 - you can only see half of

Paul's face its pressed too dark) this was not the image the Beatles wanted to portray and

was immediately corrected too!!  So this is the very earliest and first press copy!!!

Plus Ernest J. Day also placed the word MONO on the front right-hand cover 'too high'

the letters MONO very nearly touch the top edge of the fort cover, there is no gap above at

all. This MONO was dropped a little for subsequent issues.

orig UK PARLOPHONE PMC 1206 MONO (XEX 447-1N/ 448-1N) 1963 laminate sleeve tiny creases, corners slightly bumped, rear cover one-inch ex-sellotape mark (see pic 5), original inners, some spindle, vinyl lite hairline marks only
