THE BEATLES With The Beatles 60's BEAT Vinyl Record PMC 1206 UK MONO 1N/1N MKT Tax Code
Following on from the success of Please Please Me, and amidst a busy touring schedule, The Beatles released their second album to wide spread critical acclaim. Comprising a healthy balance of original material and well-loved covers, they took one more giant leap towards global domination.
This copy is a very early UK pressing (2nd) with 1N/1N matrix and the incredibly rare MKT tax code that was only in circulation for a very short amount of time.
VINYL: The audio is superb on this copy. The original MONO sound comes through crisp and clear (you can hear every little detail). The surface of the vinyl shows signs of play in the form of superficial non-feelable hairlines and scuffs. The disk also has a very slight age related wobble. However, these minor issues do not affect playback in any way. There is the mildest faint warm crackle on the run-ins which is very common on a record of this age. As soon as the songs kick in, the crackle disappears. A great copy!
LABEL: The classic yellow and black Parlophone labels show some signs of wear - most notably around the spindle hole. However, the text is still very clear (see pictures).
Comes with ORIGINAL EMITEX INNER.
SLEEVE: The Garrod & Lofthouse flipback sleeve is in generally very decent condition considering it is nearly 60 years old. The laminated front cover still maintains its original gloss and sheen. The back cover has some age related discolouration on the left hand side (see picture), but this does not affect the text in any way. The spine has a few creases and scuffs but it is straight and true. The opening section has a slight tear but it is not worn all the way through (see close up picture). The top and bottom corners of the opening section have been strengthened. Overall, the sleeve is not perfect but it looks great and is pretty decent for a record of its considerable age.
This record has been play tested, honestly described and carefully graded.
