This is the incredibly rare, earliest UK 1st press of Yellow Submarine by The Beatles. This record is one of only a couple of hundred pressed on the very first day of production, the ultimate early press, where the codes 1/G 1/G (side 1 and side 2) represent the very first Mother and the very first Stamper. It is the rarest MONO press, with dark green Apple labels and Sold in UK label text. The record is complete with the earliest Garrod & Lofthouse red lines sleeve and the rare original black inner sleeve. Every part of this complete album dates back to the very first day of Yellow Submarine production.
The record is in Very Good condition. The vinyl has a superb bright gloss, but sadly there are a couple of seconds of groove damage to Hey Bulldog. The record does not jump but it is noisy for a moment. Apart from this wear there are a few very light marks and it plays extremely well. Very rich and vibrant, the voices are sharp and the instrumentals are warm, bold and clear. The label is completely clean with bright green and sharp text. There is only the slightest spindle wear.
The rare original black inner sleeve is in Excellent+ condition. The whole sleeve is exceptionally solid, there are no edge spilts at all and the centre is intact.
The earliest Garrod & Lofthouse red lines flipback sleeve is in Excellent condition. The laminate has a superb mirrorlike shine, the colours are vivid and the image is sharp. There is a little ring wear and a light crease on the opening edge. On the unlaminated back the text is clear and is it extremely clean and bright. The flipbacks are fully intact and sealed and the red lines are sharp. The 1st press pinched spine is very firm and the whole sleeve feels solid.
