The Beatles, Yesterday and Today, 1966 mono Trunk Cover. 

Offered here is an original 1966 Scranton Pressing of the US mono version of Yesterday… and Today by The Beatles.

This is NOT a second state butcher cover. This is a trunk cover, but a very early one. (Note: we are auctioning off an excellent Third State Butcher Cover album this week for those who are interested.)

Condition:

The vinyl here is a very strong VG++, and plays through perfectly. Very little surface noise on this one. The jacket is VG+, with no markings on either side and only light wear and yellowing from age. There is the beginning of splitting happening at top and bottom seams at the opening. The inner sleeve is VG-, showing some wear and splitting at the bottom seam that has been repaired with clear tape.

Labels have a black rainbow color-band without "subsidiary" rim text. This version was pressed by Capitol's plant in Scranton, PA (identified by stamped letters I over AM inside a triangle). Has "Trunk Cover" (not "Butcher Cover"). Labels have the title as "YESTERDAY" . . . AND TODAY And this appears below the band name on the labels: (Recorded in England). The number "3" at bottom right near RIAA logo, indicating Modern Album Finishing Co. printing. Includes original inner sleeve that has the red colored gradient.

Matrix runouts:
Side A: T 1 – 2553 F 3 #2 (IAM in triangle)
Side B: T 2 – 2553 – G 2 (IAM in triangle)

The IAM in triangle stamped on runout indicates that this was produced in Capitol Records’ Scranton pressing plant.
