THE BEATLES please please me PARLOPHONE LP Stereo 5th Press PCS 3042!

 

Original UK LP 5th press with laminated front sleeve and back sleeve flip over edges, includes the original ‘EMITEX’ printed paper/poly lined inner sleeve. Released in 1963 on the PARLOPHONE Label. Catalogue number: PCS 3042.

 

Sleeve has rounded top/bottom flip over edge corners. Large type STEREO on front, made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, Angus McBean credit moved to the left.

 

Labels read: Recording first published 1963. The Parlophone Co. Ltd. No sold in the UK and has only one ‘K’ tax code stamper on the B-side. 

 

MATRIX NUMBERS READ:

A-side: YEX 94-1 (Stampers GR & 1)

B-side: YEX 95-1 (Stampers M & 1)

 

Sleeve: VERY GOOD CONDITION

Sleeve displays some wear, the front record insert edge is scuffed with small sleeve parts of laminate/print missing and has two small tears, some laminate creases/lifts, mainly overlapping the edges and some on the front, hint of edge wear on the spine print. Back sleeve is soiled in varying degrees/shades, again some light edge wear and tear on the record insert edge and very faint barely visible pen marks on and to the right of the first track. Overall sleeve is graded as in VERY GOOD condition. Displays no seem splits and no deep lined sleeve creases. Original ‘EMITEX’ printed paper/poly lined inner sleeve, in VERY GOOD condition, small tears on the top edge and both sides of the die-cut centre, small 1.50cms middle seem split on one side.

 

Record: VERY GOOD CONDITION (*Plays EXCELLENT)

Labels in VERY GOOD condition, spindle hole marks and some spindle hole edge wear evident on both sides. Playing surfaces and matrix areas are in VERY GOOD condition. Displays smooth light surface scuffs/marks on both sides, not excessively so, mainly hairline/fine types and some slightly more noticeable/prominent scuffs/marks. Record graded visually as in VERY GOOD condition. Overall sleeve/record displays wear however *the Record plays EXCELLENT on both sides, mainly a clean sound throughout with no loud background crackles or clicks.
