Description
UK pressing on the yellow / black Parlophone label (PMC 1202) from 1963.
Original regular copies on the 4th pressing of this album are perhaps the most common 1960s variant, however a small quantity of these 4th pressings were contracted to be pressed by Decca- and this is one of them, identified by the distinctive grooved label, and the absence of stamper letters at the 3 O' clock position. Has the original Emitex inner sleeve.
PLEASE PLEASE ME WHEN RELEASED IN 1963 SOLD SO MANY COPIES IN SUCH A QUICK TIME, THAT EMI HAD TO SEEK HELP FROM OTHER SOURCES TO HELP THEM MATCH THE DEMAND FROM THE PAYING PUBLIC. THEY TURNED TO DECCA WHO PRODUCED A LIMITED RUN OF PLEASE PLEASE ME TO ENSURE THE DEMANDS COULD BE MET. USING THE PARLOPHONE LABELS WAS ONE THING, BUT THE DECCA VINYL IS DIFFERENT TO THE EMI VINYL IN THAT IT HAS A DEEP GROOVE ABOUT 2 INCHES FROM THE SPINDLE HOLE RUNNING ROUND THE LABEL. SO YOU ENDED UP WITH A DECCA VINYL LOOKING LIKE A PARLOPHONE DISC.
RECORD AND SLEEVE ARE IN VG+ CONDITION
TRACK LIST:
