Description
"The Beatles (a.k.a white album)"
(PCS 7067/8)
This is a superb 1st press stereo white album, comes complete with inners, poster and pictures. This is one one the best sounding copies i have heard with most of the tracks playing Near mint if not PERFECT!!
The matrix numbers and stampers are
Side 1: YEX 709-1 (4-LO)
Side 2: YEX 710-1 (4-MG)
Side 3: YEX 711-1 (1-AA)
Side 4: YEX 712-1 (1-AR)
Cover
The orignal Garrod & lofthouse laminated gatefold numbered top opening cover is in a superb Excellent+ condition..IF NOT BETTER!!,with no tears, stickers, writing, ring wear or laminate damage. The front has a limited edition number of 0441599 and has just a few creases..nothing major. The back is similar and it has the word "stereo" in the top corner. There is definetly no bad shelve wear anywhere on this cover and although not shop quality white it is still very clean!!.The inside of the gatefold is also just as nice with no damage to the flipbacks. The edges and spine has no splits but the spine does suffer from some wear..otherwise the cover would grade higher
Altogether a very nice example of a first press top loader!!
Poster
The original "kiss" poster is in Very good+ condition,in each corner there are pin holes and some brown marks in the corners on the lyric side (email me for scan)
Pictures
The 4 pictures are virtually mint
Orig black "die cut" inners
These are in Very good+/Excellent condition..no bad splits just tears on the die cut hole
Labels
The Apple labels which have the "sold in uk" text are in Excellent to Near mint condition (1 is ex,rest near mint) with no damage and no visible spindle marks
Records
The records which are unwarped play SUPERBLY WELL!! with a lot of the tracks playing perfect. The records also look superb with full gloss and shine..no groove wear and they are unwarped!!.They are graded under strong light..in normal light they look NEAR MINT!! (apart from the scratch on side 1)
Side 1:Excellent- to Excellent...few faint hairlines and one noticeable scratch(plays NEAR MINT..almost perfect with no loud crackles, clicks or pops and does not stick or jump)
Side 2 :Excellent..few faint hairlines(Plays NEAR MINT..almost perfect!!)
Side 3: Excellent (plays well but has a little static crackle in some quieter parts and between tracks)
Side 4: Excellent (same as side 3)
ALTOGETHER A VERY NICE ORIGINAL STEREO EXAMPLE
I ALWAYS SAY A CLEAN ON A PROPER CLEANING MACHINE WOULD/COULD HELP THE PROBLEM OF STATIC CRACKLE
