Description

THE BEATLES - YESTERDAY and TODAY - BUTCHER BLOCK COVER W / EXCELLENT PEEL !.

Beatles 3rd State Peeled LA Mono Butcher Cover w/Record and Inner Sleeve

Please read entire description prior to bidding on this item. Thank You

If you read my 1st description about the LP I'm sure you noticed that I accidentally included error info which is not relevant to this LP but to the White Album.  Forgive me.  Those errors have been removed and the write-up is 100% accurate now.  Thank you.  I'm old ...

This Butcher Cover is a first time offering of a nicely peeled genuine 1966 LA #6 jacket at the lowest opening bid price that you will find for a peel that presents this well. Certainly the lowest priced genuine Butcher Cover that has been offered in a long while.

Finding a peeled West Coast Butcher Cover that doesn't look like it's ready for the trashcan is not an easy task. If you always wanted a real Butcher Cover but didn't want to spend over $1000 to 2k or more, than this might be for you !  Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are the improperly peeled LA Jackets.  While this is not an absolutely perfect peel and the jacket has some wear and seam issues, this won't cost you over 1k or more and if one were to get this professionally framed, it would look just about as nice as a far more expensive peel costing hundreds more. Look around and compare. Perhaps not for the super picky collector, but that special someone who wants a real Butcher Cover for a reachable price that still presents well.

While the market is currently getting flooded with over-hyped peels with large scars/damage,the good news for buyers is that this is one of the more affordable/obtainable peels out there for under $1000 that still present nicely that won't make you skip your mortgage  Such is the case here and this jacket offers quite a decent bang for the buck ! These Los Angeles covers with the notorious factory super glue have been destroyed by the thousands and continue to be destroyed through amateur peeling attempts. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price.  Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition descriptions.  I have been as thorough and honest as possible.

This item will be safely and securely boxed and shipped to you via First Class Mail.  Please read complete description prior to bidding and definitely give the photos a close look as they tell the story.

Condition:

Please see photos to verify specific condition and feel free to contact with me with any questions.  I will attempt to at least answer any & all questions anyone might have.

Front of Jacket:

Front cover is nicely presented due to a excellent peeling job. The good news is that this colorful and respectable #6 Butcher Cover won't cost you $1200 or more. As you can see from the photos, nothing from the peeling process (glue residue, minute pinpoint touch up to tiny abrasions, etc) detracts greatly from the awesome presentation of this jacket. This is unusual from what is generally offered on these specific jackets.Take a look and judge for yourself.

Seams:

Top seam is partially split from the left side to the middle section (see top seam photo). The bottom seam appears to  also have split sections/wear to the seam paper of several inches throughout. Seams have been neatly closed in the areas that show cracking. To protect what remains of the seams.

Top seam is partially split from the left side to the middle section (see top seam photo). The bottom seam appears to  also have split sections/wear to the seam paper of several inches throughout. Seams have been neatly closed in the areas that show cracking. To protect what remains of the seams, a record sleeve should never be attempted to be forced into this jacket.  The LP is currently in the inner sleeve & inside the jacket. To be safe it should probably remain there.  That is to say that the inner capital sleeve should not be removed, but the record itself easily slides in & out of the jacket for playing.

 Spine:

Spine paper/printing was completely wiped out on this one. Again the spine, like the seams, appears to have been neatly mitigated with adhesive so that the condition would stabilize and not spread any further.

Back Of Jacket:

The back of the jacket shows general/moderate wear/foxing/soiling/writing with and a 3" abrasion at top center and some seam splitting.  And as mentioned earlier there is some red magic marker coloring in the "Beatles" area ( again, see pics )

Trunk Slick:

Removed Trunk Slick is NOT INCLUDED in this auction.

Record

Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in Good visual condition, but plays much better.

No skips ( at least on my stereo ) but some occasional noise is the quieter sections and fade outs.  Label is clean.  No writing or names.

Includes original Capital Records inner sleeve but there is some seam splitting on bottom & sides for sure. ( see pics )

Please be sure you know what you are buying.  I have presented the LP as honestly & thoroughly as I can.  Any sale will be FINAL and there will be NO RETURNS.
