The Blue Nile – A Walk Across The Rooftops (12” LP)

The Blue Nile were a Scottish band which originated in Glasgow. The group's early music was built heavily on synthesizers and electronic instrumentation and percussion, although later works featured guitar more prominently. Following early championing by established artists such as Rickie Lee Jones and Peter Gabriel (the band later worked with both acts), the Blue Nile gained critical acclaim, particularly for their first two albums A Walk Across the Rooftops and Hats, and some commercial success in both the UK and the US, which led to the band working with a wide range of musicians from the late 1980s onwards.

Side Two: Stay; Easter Parade; Heatwave; Automobile Noise.
The album is on Linn Records, LKH 1. Matrix side one: LKH1A RED JIMMY VII GRAM (etched). Matrix side two: LKH1B RED JIMMY VIII GRAM (etched).
Originally released in 1983, this is a 1984 reissue. UK pressing. Stereo.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: very good (has the odd small mark and plays with the odd light click at the very start but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, plays with no jumps or sticks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: very good (has the odd small mark and plays with the very odd light click here and there but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, plays with no jumps or sticks and minimal crackle).

Cover (glossy): very good (split on top edge, light creases bottom left, and right, a few edge creases).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy on return of the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
