Description
Having been a dedicated Byrds fan after first hearing ‘Mr Tambourine Man’, I was keen to buy many of their early albums in the 60s and ‘The Notorious Byrd Brothers’, although recorded during a difficult time for the band, resulted in a superb album with many innovative touches on many of the tracks. On offer is a great opportunity for collectors to obtain an original, first UK pressing of the album from 1968. As always I will provide a full and honest assessment of what is on offer for the benefit of buyer and seller. Having play graded the album I am happy to classify the vinyl as EX bordering on NM as there are no pops, clicks or skips and minimal surface noise between tracks.. The production and stereo separation is superb throughout. The original, laminated cover is in excellent condition with no creases or marks. As with many of my other original albums my youthful enthusiasm for the Dymo Tape label maker resulted in my name being printed on the top of the back cover. Although these labels were produced as an impetuous teenager I like to think of it as providing provenance and history to the album. The spine information is still fully legible. The original inner sleeve is also included and has obvious signs of paper aging and slight ring wear. It has been replaced by a modern, protective sleeve to protect the vinyl. Overall, this is a real gem from the halcyon days of The Byrds and their unique blend of country, folk and psychedelic rock. If you have any questions please contact me before bidding.
