Description
THE CHAIN REACTION 1966 When I Needed You The Sun 7" Date 2-1538 Steven Tyler VG
Nice bit of rock arcana for fans of Aerosmith and/or 60s' garage-psych.
This is a 7" 45 rpm single When I Needed You b/w The Sun. It was first of two singles released by the Yonkers, New York garage rock band The Chain Reaction, featuring singer Steve Tallarico. He later became Steven Tyler, the lead singer for Aerosmith. The Chain Reaction was his first recording band. The band opened for the Beach Boys, The Byrds and The Yardbirds.
The song When I Needed You was included in Aerosmith's 1991 box set Pandora's Box. Date Records was a sub-label of Columbia Records.
After posting this item, we were delighted to get an email from Barry Shapiro, a member of The Chain Reaction, who played drums on this record. Thank you, Mr. Shapiro.
This record is in really good condition. There is surface wear on the label and vinyl but no damaging marks, significant scratches or warps. Very hard record to find.
Comes with original Date paper sleeve.
