Description
Up for auction is this very rare and hard to come by 45 rpm Doo Wop record by The Checkers on the King label # 4581 which was released in 1952. The A side is " Night's Curtains " and the B side is " Let Me Come Back ". This record is authentic, not a repro! It came in an old record book with other 45's from the same period ( see other auctions ). The stamped matrix reads; K-45-8284-1and K-45-8286-1. This record is in VG++ to Near Mint condition. There is a small amount of ring wear on the B side label and a fingerprint that I couldn't wipe off on the A side. The vinyl on both sides is in excellent condition with just a few faint scratches.
On Apr-15-04 at 07:44:26 PDT, seller added the following information: In the description of this 45 I wrote that the matrix numbers were stamped but they are actually etched. I got this record confused with an other auction. Sorry for the mix-up. I've gotten a few e-mails pertaining to it's authenticity and all I can say is that it came from an older woman, in an old record book with about 20 other records, all in about the same condition and all of the same era, 1952 to about 1955. It doesn't look like a reproduction with wear added to it. It looks more like a well taken care of original.
