THE CLASH - COMBAT ROCK 1982 FIRST PRESS in ORIGINAL SHRINK WRAP EX/NM
This is an AMAZING find...1A/1A means this is a FIRST DAY PRESS released in May 1982. This album was sent out before they faced legal action and had to remove the unapproved 2000 flushes ad in the middle of the song Inoculated City or face legal issues.

This is an absolute holy grail copy of The Clash’s 1982 masterpiece, Combat Rock. This museum-quality specimen is a verified, Day-One commercial first pressing, featuring the highly coveted P AL-37689-1A / P BL-37689-1-A matrix codes stamped into the deadwax runout. Pressed at the legendary Columbia factory in Pitman, New Jersey, this rare variant features the beautiful, short-lived black labels with the iconic neon pink block text.
Most importantly, because it is a true first master, it contains the legendary, unedited 2:40 version of "Inoculated City" featuring the unauthorized "2000 Flushes" toilet bowl cleaner radio commercial sample. Epic Records pulled this version from production almost immediately following legal threats, making this un-scrubbed audio mix an incredible piece of punk rock history.
The presentation of this copy is a collector's dream. The vinyl itself is in brilliant Excellent condition, retaining its gorgeous factory gloss and playing cleanly with minimal background noise. The jacket is a spectacular specimen, beautifully preserved inside its original retail cellophane shrink wrap which has protected the corners and surfaces from shelf wear for over four decades. It even sports the original vintage $6.99 price sticker on the front, offering a perfect, period-correct time capsule aesthetic. The original black-and-white inner lyric sleeve is included and completely crisp, with only a standard, minor split on the bottom seam. This is an archival-quality, highly displayable copy that belongs in a serious vinyl collection.
