Description
Up for auction is a rare psych Texas garage rock record by The Coachmen, Sea Ell 106 (A Side - Grapes of Wrath, B Side - Summer Should Bring Happiness) and a print of the original hand-drawn poster. This record and the limited never-before-sold original print of the poster from 1968 have been immaculately preserved for over 45 years. The record is in MINT UNPLAYED condition with no warps and has been in temperature controlled storage. It has never been out of the sleeve. The poster is also in mint condition, it had been stored in a mailing tube for the past 45 years and measures 14"x20". Both items were discovered in storage and opened in the past month.
This auction is hosted by The Coachmen's original keyboardist who also created the poster for The Coachmen.
The Coachmen (Sea-Ell, 1968, Lovington, NM) “New Mexico-based band signed to C. L. Milburn's Sea Ell Records label in the middle-late 1960's. They had a good, heavy attack on rhythm guitar and a lead player who was skilled in a multitude of idioms, equally good at droning fuzztone guitar ("Grapes of Wrath" or crunchy folk-rock ("Summer Should Bring Happiness"), and their drummer kept things moving aggressively. Their one and only Sea Ell single sold locally in Texas.” ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
