The Cramps - Human Fly/ Domino

(Vengeance Records 668 USA 7" Single 1978)

This is an original 1978 USA Picture Sleeve 7" Single. There were, I believe, four pressings of this single in the USA in 1978. They were mainly pressed in small quantities. The most desirable being the "Glow In The Dark" picture sleeve 1st pressing. This copy is the "dark purple sleeve" variation. Also released in 1978. This pressing is the next best thing to the "glow in the dark" pressing. It is still extremely rare. As stated, it was not pressed in large quantities.

This single has a top opening Picture Sleeve which is printed on matte paper sleeve, As stated, the picture sleeve has a dark purple colouration to the front. The rear sleeve has a red/ orange colouration. There is a thin strip of "white border" along the bottom edge only. This is on both sides of the sleeve. The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has orange & black "Vengeance" labels. These have a large centre hole. The record has NR 9927-A and NR 9927-B matrix numbers. "JE" is machine etched in the dead wax on both sides.

A classic late 1970's Psychobilly/ Punk/ Garage USA original 7" Single. This is a genuine 1978 USA original Picture Sleeve pressing. It has the "dark purple" Picture Sleeve. As stated, these are the next best thing to the "glow in the dark" sleeve variation. This single is extremely rare . It did not sell particularly well at the time & only had a limited pressing. I have some other rare & collectable 1970's, early 1980's Punk, New Wave and Post-Punk UK Original 7" Singles & LP's for sale. This includes several other "The Cramps" 7" Singles & LP's. So please see my other listings.

Sleeve: There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor hairline rubbing wear on the bottom edge, & both side edges, on some areas. There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the top opening edges on some areas. There are some light, mild, very mild or very minor handling creases on some areas. There are a couple of small & mild creases at one corner tip area. There is some light, mild, very mild or very minor ringwear on a few areas. There are no seam splits. Overall, Very Good+ condition.

Vinyl: There is a very mild 3.5 cm hairline surface mark on the B-side. There is a tiny 0.5 cm mild hairline surface mark at the very start of the B-side too. Otherwise, there are some light, very mild or very minor sleeve rubs which can hardly be seen under a strong light. The paper picture sleeve, over time, has left some light, very mild or very minor dull surface marks on a few areas. These, again, can hardly be seen under a strong light. The A-side is in Very Near Excellent condition. The B-side is in Very Good+ condition. Overall, NEAR EXCELLENT condition. Not too far from being in Excellent condition. The labels are in Near Mint condition and show next to no wear.

I have play tested this single in its entirety & it plays Very Near Excellent to Excellent overall, & Excellent+ in some places. There is some light, very mild or very minor crackle in a very few quieter places. There are no clicks or pops. A great audio copy!

I shall place the vinyl into a separate plain paper sleeve. This will protect the original picture sleeve from any damage during the shipping process.

Traceable insurance is already included in the stated P&P price for this listing.

Discount is given on P&P for multiple purchases. I shall always weigh combined purchases to get a completely accurate price.  So please wait for the invoice to be sent before paying. Please see below for a more detailed description.

  >>  Grading Information All grading is very strict & adheres to 'Record Collector' specifications. However, I have fine tuned them & they are explained below. All vinyl is examined closely under a strong light & play tested.

MINT Condition = A perfect copy! Almost impossible to find like this.

NEAR MINT Condition = Very nearly mint just slightly under, There may be a very few, very light paper surface sleeve rubs that can hardly be seen under strong light. This disc has been played a couple of times at most. The sleeve is virtually perfect - there is very minimal wear only.

EXCELLENT Condition = A clean & tidy copy that shows minimal defects. There will be light, very mild or very minor surface sleeve rubs. There will be no scratches. The cover will be very nice & clean with maybe minimal creasing, ringwear or edge rubbing wear etc...

NEAR EXCELLENT Condition = You can tell this record has been played a few times, but it has been well cared for. There will be minor surface marks only. The sleeve may have light, mild or very mild creasing, ringwear & very mild rubbing wear to the edges etc.... Overall, it will be a very serviceable copy that you will be pleased with.

Very Good Condition = A well played but very decent overall copy. There will be a few marks on the vinyl, but they won't be nasty scratches, just relatively light needle scuffs and sleeve removal marks, they will be noticeable but won't detract from play too much. Cover will show signs of storage/ ageing, e.g., creasing, slight folding, spinewear, ringwear or sticker tears etc... The record will not be trashed!!

Please note that I also use "+" or "-" symbols for this grading. A plus symbol is obviously at the top end of "Very Good" & is really not far from being in "near excellent" condition. The minus symbol obviously means it is at the lower end. This will mean that it is near to being in "Good+" condition.
>>  Postage Rates

AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT TO YOU VERY SOON AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS. PLEASE WAIT FOR THIS BEFORE PAYING.

Royal Mail have very recently increased their postage rates. So I have revised my postage costs to reflect their increases. (Please note that these prices include packaging costs too)
Double LPs are classed as two LPs. Also posters, inserts, etc.. can increase postage costs.

All records will be sent in high quality vinyl mailers with at least two card stiffeners either side of the LP or 7" Single. I use a cruciform box for larger orders (3-6 LPs). All parcels will be marked "Fragile" and dispatch time will generally be between 1-3 days after payment.

I will also remove the vinyl from the sleeve & place them in a re-sealable polythene sleeve. In order to prevent seam splits. Depending on the inner sleeve; I often remove the vinyl from the inner sleeve & place it in a separate plain paper, or polythene-lined, plain inner sleeve. I am very conscientious and careful when packaging your LP(s).

I consider my postage & packaging costs to be very transparent & very fair. Packaging costs will generally be between £0.80 to £1.50. I am not adding any further costs for handling, etc...

If you are uncertain about any of the above, or just simply want some information regarding any item, please do not hesitate to contact me. I welcome any question.

Remember to check out My Other Items Lots of rare & quality vinyl! Most are UK 1st Pressings. It is quite likely that there will be more records by this artist, or records in a similar vein.
