THE CRICKETS OZ ONLY/ULTRA RARE/BUDDY HOLLY=THE NEW CRICKETS
The only Coral EP by the Crickets released after the death of Holly. (There’s another on Liberty with Bobby Vee) The 5000 series was released in a small quantity (750 units) and a miniscular number that were remaindered were overstamped a year later with a 10,000 matrix. To quote Roddie Jordan’s book “Buddy Holly and the Crickets-A Musical History in Australia” he says of this record “The 10.000 series would have to be one of the rarest EP’s in Australia. It was a 5000 series EP re-catalogued in the early 60’s to the above numbered 10,000 series. Many Holly/Crickets collectors in Australia either do not have it or are even aware of it’s existence”
The front cover only has very mild ringwear. The back cover has a name and address (see scan) One short light hairline on the (a) side but the whole thing plays fine. Maybe it’s between EX- and EX. The labels are EX+.
