Visual grading

The vinyl has some very faint mottling here and there but this does not affect the incredible audio as detailed below.  With only one very small spindle trace on S1 this album has hardly been played and indeed there was some vinyl flecking around the spindle hole to support this theory.  There are only a small number of very faint sleeve removal hairlines and there are no scratches at all.

Play grading  

From the very first track 'Top Of The World Ma' the audio on S1 plays with sublime quality, no interference whatsoever.  The vinyl plays with supreme clarity and definition and even the quieter sections such as on 'Liar' and 'Breakdown' play with Mint- quality.  This is audio of the highest standard and there is complete silence in the dead wax between every track also.

S2 equals this standard and again the audio is of a superlative standard.  The louder tracks again play with no distortion and 'Better Things' the one very quiet song has incredible clarity with just no 'background' at all.  100% stunning!  The quality does not diminish and the two final tracks, 'Old Men (Lay Down)' and 'Final Destination' impress with nigh on perfect audio.

In summary this relatively rare album is hardly ever seen in this condition.  The audio is astounding and the vinyl has obviously hardly ever been played judging by its visual quality.  It has the wow factor!  Any avid collector will not be disappointed by this one.

Cover

The glossy cover is in superb order with very little shelf wear.  The edges and spine have no rubbing and there is only a touch of mega small rubbing on the two right hand corners.  The opening edge is also very clean.  There are just a few faint scratch type marks on the back cover but you can only see them when held at a certain angle.  This is definitely one of the cleanest versions of this German cover I have seen.

Lyric inner

This is in perfect condition which is so rare when you consider it is made of paper.  Bizarrely the opening is at the bottom of the sleeve, a printing error no doubt.

The labels

They are both 'as new' with no marking or writing and only one faint spindle line on the S1 label.

Play tested on my Pro-Ject Essential III Turntable / B&W 684 Speakers

This record has been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
