DISC PRESUMED MINTY
This 2nd album on the Rare Earth label is pretty good, even if they did go in different musical direction than their debut. Yes, they do take turn into some country rock vibes, like on ‘Bad City Ways’, but once you make the turn to Side Two, there’s a positive shift with consistently quality cuts. The band work in some solid tunes full of rock, funk and psych vibes – ‘A Song Is Born’ is probably the best track with its psychedelic flourishes. The organ plays a prominent role in the swirling ‘I Love You’ and there’s an aggressive organ solo in the funky party rocker ‘Let Me Get Straight Again’, another album standout. ‘Peace For A Change’ is just a good mid-paced period rock song.
